Rajya Sabha Member Er Ghulam Ali Khatana visits GMC&AH Rajouri

Rajouri : Member of the Rajya Sabha, Er Ghulam Ali Khatana recently visited the Government Medical College (GMC) & Associated Hospital (AH) in Rajouri to understand the functioning of the hospital and to assess the healthcare services provided to the citisens.

During his visit, he interacted with the staff and appreciated the services being provided at Jan Aushidi Kendra, where medicines are provided at subsidised rates, the Golden Card registration counter, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana counter, the Anti-Rabies and Vaccination Room, the Ayurvedic OPD and the Medical OPD, among others.

Khatana also visited the Orthopaedic Ward, Emergency Ward and Physiotherapy Ward and interacted with the staff of the Health Department. He expressed his gratitude to the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff for their efforts in providing medical services to the people of the district.

During his interaction with the staff, the MP assured them of all necessary support to GMC&AH Rajouri to improve the healthcare services in the region. He also emphasised the importance of medical staff being sympathetic towards patients in order to guarantee high satisfaction levels in their services.

MP Khatana also interacted with the BSc Nursing students to discuss the positive use of technology and how to avoid addiction to become a good citisen. He motivated the students to use the latest technology and tools effectively to maximise their potential in their respective fields.

The interaction was beneficial for the students as they had the opportunity to gain knowledge from an experienced MP. Furthermore, he stressed the need for proper disposal of biomedical waste to ensure a healthy environment for everyone in the health institution.

The officers who accompanied the MP during his visit to the GMC&AH were DC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal; Principal GMC, AmarJeet Singh; ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; MS DH, Dr Mehmood Bajar; ExEn PWD (R&B) Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain and other officers of the district administration.
