Rajouri admin targets to install 650 Hand-pumps this financial year

Rajouri : To review the progress regarding the installation and repair of hand-pumps in the district, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a meeting with the concerned officers here in his office chamber.Among the others, CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Jal Shakti, JP Singh; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn Groundwater and drilling division Jammu, AEEs, AEs and JEs concerned attended the meeting.The meeting was apprised that as many as 650 hand-pumps are to be installed in the district this year and all works have been tendered. The meeting was further apprised that the work on the installation of hand pumps is to be carried out strictly as per the guidelines of the proof app issued by the Finance Department and a special training session on the app needs to be organised for the field staff and contractors.

The DDC asked the concerned officers to immediately allot all the tendered works and ensure that the work on all the hand pumps is started and completed within the shortest possible time so that necessary benefit in terms of a drinking water facility is provided to the general public.Discussing the progress on repairing the defunct hand-pumps, the DDC directed the concerned officers to get all the defunct hand pumps repaired at the earliest to mitigate the sufferings of the general public.The DDC also assured that a special training session for the field staff as well as of the contractors would be organised by the District Administration shortly to sensitise them about the guidelines of the proof App.
