Provident Fund Commissioner calls for strict implementation of EPF, MP Act in Kishtwar

Meets DC, listens to labour unions' grievances

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma on Thursday meet with Commissioner Provident Fund Organisation, Rizwan Uddin and discussed the modalities for the effective implementation of Employee’s Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provision Act for employees of public and private sectors.

During the meeting, it was revealed that some contractors of NHIDCL are not complying with the PF Act, and many eligible employees have not been enrolled as members.

The PF Commissioner instructed DGM, and NHIDCL to ensure that none of the employees should be working without a Universal Account Number (UAN) and without remittance of monthly PF contributions. DC Kishtwar also asked DGM, and NHIDCL to inspect records of all the major contractors to ensure strict compliance with rules.

Later, representatives of Louberers’ Union Joint Action Committee led by its Chairman, Vinod Parihar, representatives of AITUC led by Ishtiyaq Malik besides other stakeholders called on Commissioner PF and apprised him of the grievances of the pensioners of the public sector including ex-employees and pensioner widows.

They highlighted the demand for the transfer of pensionary claims of pensioners from EPFO Centre Amritsar to EPFO Centre Jammu for ease of the pensioners. Issues related to delay in settlement of claims were also brought to the notice of Commissioner PF.
