Preparedness for Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll reviewed at Udhampur

Udhampur : District Panchayat Election Officer Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna today discussed the rollout of Summary Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll 2023, here at a meeting held in Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

The meeting was convened by Deputy Election Officer Udhampur, Gurdev Kumar. During the meeting, it was informed that J&K State Election Commission (Election Authority) has decided to undertake the revision of the existing Panchayat Electoral Roll in terms of the powers vested with the Election Authority under Section 38 of J&K Panchayati Raj Act, 1989.

The Roll shall be revised with respect to January1, 2023 as qualifying date. As per schedule, six Special Camps shall be organized at all the polling station locations across the District. It was decided in the meeting that all the Panchayat Election Booth Officers (PEBOs) shall remain present in their respective polling station locations with the requisite forms for the guidance of Electors.

(Block Development Officer)AERO will collect all the details of claims and objections received on the day of Special Camps as per the prescribed format and will submit to ERO concerned who will further submit to the District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner).
