My Town My Pride- 2.0 : Series of Jan Abhiyan activities organised in urban areas of Kathua district

Kathua : On the inaugural day of ‘Jan Abhiyan Shehri’; a prelude to upcoming ‘My Town My Pride’ programme of the government, the Municipal authorities and the line departments organized a series of activities across the six municipalities of district Kathua.

President MC Lakhanpur. Advocate Rakesh Sharma inaugurated a newly constructed Bore Well which will cater to the drinking water demands of various wards of the Town. A volleyball match was also organized with the aim to engage youth in sports activities for channelizing their energies in constructive activities.

A campaign against the use of Single Use Plastic was carried out in different wards of Billawar Municipality. Different teams of Billawar MC sensitized the general public about ill effects of Single Use plastic and adoption of Biodegradable Jute and Cloth bags which are environment friendly.

Likewise, an array of activities were also held across all ULBs of the district to mark the first day of Jan Abhiyan programme.
