Local Deputation calls on DDC Chairperson Udhampur Lal Chand

Udhampur : A deputation from Chari Swail area called on Chairperson District Development Council Udhampur, Lal Chand in his office chamber regarding implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Chari Swail, Sakan Bowli.

The deputation submitted a representation to the Chairperson District Development Council addressing some issues with the execution of the aforementioned project and laying of the pipeline as it is close to the Railway’s property.

Chairperson DDC issued instructions to the Superintending Engineer Jal Shakti to visit the location and resolve the issue amicably in consultation with the Railway authorities, public representatives and general public.

Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Udhampur apprised the Chairperson DDC that the work for the said project shall be started at an earliest. He apprised the Chairperson DDC about the Jal Jeevan Mission’s development in the District Udhampur.

He informed the chair that till September 2022, Rs. 34.5 crore had been allocated for 21 works and as of now, upto February 2023, Rs. 356 crore have been allocated for 102 works.

Chairperson DDC appreciated the efforts of the officer for accelerating the process for implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in District Udhampur and expressed the expectation that no household would go without tap water in the ensuing years.

Moreover, instructions are also issued to the Revenue authorities to resolve all land-related problems associated with the implementation of JJM in Udhampur, including carrying out the nishan dehi of all disputed sites.
