Hizb Commander Among three Militants killed in Shopian Gunfight, Internet Snapped

Shopian (Mudasir Maqbool) : Three Militants Among top commander of Hizb-ul Mujhiduin along with his two colleagues,Were killed in Turkuwangum village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday Morning.One among the three militant reportedly identified as nephew of a former PDP MLC Kamran Manhas was killed in this Operation.The Operation was launched after forces recieved specific input about presence of Militants in the area and Combined forces of 44RR and crpf laid search Operation there.Reports said, as Forces reached approached the suspected spot hiding Militants fired upon forces which was retaliated triggering a Gunfight with the killing of three Militants.Kashmir Police Zone Tweeted Police read as , So far three unidentified terrorists killed. Further details shall follow.The identity of the trio is being ascertained by Police however According to local news agency.Slain Militants as Hizb-ul-Mujahideen district Commander Zubair Wani of Turkawangam, Kamran Manhas, nephew of former PDP MLC Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, a resident of Shadab Karewa and Muneeb-ul-Haq of Sugan Zainapora Shopian, however when final identity comes we will update that also.Pertinently it is the Fourth Gunfight in Shopian district in which 17 Militants were eleminated by security forces so far.Meanwhile, internet services have been suspended in Shopian district to prevent rumour mongering and and precaution measure.Earlier Gunfight breaks out in Turkuwangam village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district between Militants and Forces on Tuesday

June 16: On a specific input regarding presence of terrorists, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Shopian Police, 44 RR and 178 Bn CRPF in village Turkwagam of District Shopian.During the search operation, the hiding terrorists fired on the joint search party. The fire was retaliated leading to an encounter.In the ensuing encounter, three terrorists were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. The identification and affiliation of the killed terrorists is being ascertained.Incriminating material including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their complicity in other terror crimes.Case FIR No. 65/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Zainapora and investigation has been initiated. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials, if any.While addressing a joint press conference, IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar said that, “it was due to an excellent and swift action by Police, Army and CRPF, the joint operation was carried out in professional manner with no collateral damage. During the current year, 94 terrorists including top commanders have been killed so far. Pertinently 24 terrorists were killed in the past two weeks mostly in District Shopian. The dead bodies of three killed terrorists have been sent to Baramulla for their last rites after conducting medico-legal formalities including collection of their DNA.”He further said that, “in case any family claims the killed terrorists to be their kith or kin, they can come forward for the identification and participation in last rites at Baramulla.”
