Samba : The National Service Scheme unit ‘Prabha’ of Government Degree College Ramgarh organized Shramdaan in a nearby public park on day-three of the ongoing 7-Day NSS Special Winter Camp under the banners of ‘My College My Pride’ and ‘My Town My Pride’ initiatives.
The drive was conducted under supervision and leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Satinder Kaur, the Principal of the College. Dr. Shamsher Lal, Programme Officer of the NSS unit ‘Prabha’ of the College, the NSS Committee members and the NSS volunteers visited the nearby designated public park to carry out Shramdaan.
Programme Officer briefed the volunteers about the guidelines to carry out the cleanliness drive. He also explained the importance of cleanliness and said that the drive was one of the social responsibilities that the College has towards the society at large.
The volunteers and the NSS Committee members wore sanitary gloves throughout the drive. The collected waste was disposed of at a designated site. A large number of volunteers were present and they participated in the drive.
The residents of the area applauded this role of the College. The College performs such social responsibilities on regular intervals.
