Drug Deaddiction cum career counseling programme organized at Sumbal

Bandipora : With an objective to eradicate drug menace, Greenland Higher Secondary School Sumbal today organised a Drug de-addiction cum counselling programmes for the students. Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sumbal, Dr Bashir Ahmed lone was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

SDM Sumbal interacted with the student of the institution and delivered a moral lecture for the betterment of the students. He said, the aim of organising such programmes is to enable students to carry on their own responsibilities and to save them from the vulnerabilities of the modern age like drugs and immoralties.

He said career counselling is a type of advice-giving and support provided to the students, to help them manage their life, learning and work. Dr Lone asked the students that Failure is not the end of life, be smart don’t be in fear of failure, follow dreams passionately.

He said that government has started war against drug addiction and students should not indulge in these practices . Drugs and psychotropic substances not only destroy the individuals but the whole society, he said.

He also encouraged the students to prepare for their future endeavours as it was the right time to begin.He advised students to start thinking about career development early in their education to avoid any hiccups in the future.

For the realization of parental dreams students should concentrate on their studies and should involve themselves in sports activities for all round development.”Counselling will help you to understand the career options and means to pursue them,” he added.

Later on SDM visited various blocks of the institution and took stock of the facilities available in the institution.
