DLSA organises Special Lok Adalat across Kathua

Kathua : A Special Lok Adalat was held in the premises of District Court Complex Kathua under the overall supervision of Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Kathua Jaffer Hussain Beg today.The Special Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kathua by lighting of traditional lamps.

A total of two benches were constituted at District Court Complex Kathua whereas four benches were constituted in Tehsil Courts at Basohli, Billawar, Bani, and Mahanpur respectively.Bench No. 1 consisted of Addl. District & Sessions Judge Kathua Kamlesh Pandita & Munsiff JMIC Kathua Cheena Sumbria whereas Bench No. 2 consisted of Spl.

Mobile Magistrate Kathua Anjana Rajput and District Mobile Magistrate Kathua Brij Raj Singh were constituted.At Basohli, Lok Adalat bench comprising Munsiff JMIC Basohli, Jeevan Kumar Sharma & Advocate Shub Kumar from Basohli was constituted.

At Billawar, Lok Adalat bench comprising Additional Spl. Mobile Magistrate Billawar Rohit Sharma and Naib Tehsildar Billawar Kewal Krishan Sharma were constituted.At Bani, Lok Adalat bench comprises JMIC Bani Ahtzaz Ahmed, & Advocate Rajinder Kumar from Bani.

At Mahanpur, the bench was composed of Munsiff JMIC Mahanpur Rajni Bhagat.A total no of 3458 cases were taken up in the Special Lok Adalat in various benches, out of which 3395 cases were disposed off/settled. 04 MACT Cases, 02 Matrimonial, 04 Post- Litigation Bank cases, 01 Pre- Litigation Bank cases, 04 138 NI Act cases, 09 Criminal compoundable cases, 371 Traffic Challans, 3000 Service Related Cases etc.

Compensation worth Rs 1615000/- was awarded in the MACT cases, a Recovery of Rs. 526000/- was also made in favour of the Banks and a fine of Rs. 101450/- was realized.
