DJJMC approves action plan for Kulgam

Under JJM 140 schemes to come with an estimated cost of 467 crore

Kulgam : To review and approve district action plan for proper implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district, the District Jal Jeevan Mission Committee (DJJMC) meet was held today at mini secretariat here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.

The meeting was informed that under the district action plan, 60289 households of 280 villages will be covered.The committee after a detailed discussion approved the action plan under the chairmanship of DJJMC Chairman.

During the meeting, it was revealed that a total number of 140 schemes are there under JJM which will come up with an estimated cost of 467 crore.Further, it was given out that all 140 schemes have already been tendered and got good response.

33 Rapid Sand Filtration Plants, 78 Service Reservoirs, 4 Impounding and Intake Reservoirs besides 82 Ground Service Reservoirs along with 2 Overhead Tanks are included in the components of these 140 schemes.

The DDC directed Ex. Engineers of both the PHE and Kulgam divisions conduct aggressive IEC activities to reach out to the public. He also directed them to nominate 3 persons from each village for skill development training so that schemes after execution will be maintained and operated by the local Panchayat properly.

The DDC also directed the concerned to establish water testing laboratories at block level and to establish grievances redressal centre.The meeting was attended by ADDC, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi; SE Hydraulics, JD-Planning, ACD, DFO, Ex. Engineer PHE, CMO, CEO and other concerned officers.
