DDC asks for uploading list of water bodies on dedicated portal

Doda : District Administration Doda is going to constitute a District Level Monitoring Committee to oversee the implementation of Jal Shakti Abhiyan in the district. District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Vikas Sharma today chaired a meeting of key officials of stakeholder departments here in the DC office to review the implementation of flagship Jal Shakti Abhiyan program in the district.During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held with regard to the operational guidelines of the program which includes preparation of the inventory list of the existing water bodies, updation of the database, Geo tagging, formulation of scientific water conservation plan, besides other key parameters for smooth implementation of the mission.The DDC asked the planning section to constitute a district level committee with functionaries of all the stakeholders as its members to oversee the implementation of the program in the district. Besides, he asked all the concerned departments to prepare panchayat wise and village wise inventory list of the existing water bodies and upload the same on the designated portal.The DDC directed the designated Nodal officer to submit the daily report to his office with regard to updating and preparation of inventory list.

The DDC further directed the Nodal officer to create a whatsapp group of all the members for sharing information and innovative ideas with regard to Jal Shakti Abhiyan.Moreover the DDC directed the concerned stakeholders to construct the Roof top water harvesting structure in their respective offices and give wide publicity to the same make the people aware about the benefits of the technique.The DDC further asked the stakeholders to ensure the compliance to the directions so that the next step which is to formulate the scientific water conservation plan for the district shall be taken into account which primarily depends upon the inventory list and data base management.Meanwhile the DDC also reviewed the functioning of the recently established Jal Shakti Kendra in the district and asked all the concerned departments to keep their resource person available in the JSK on the given days of the week and provide additional staff to the Nodal officer to ensure error free data management.The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Chief Planning Officer, DFO, ACD, Ex PHE, Ex En I&FC, CAO, Representatives of Horticulture and Soil Conservation departments, besides other officials from line departments were also present.
