Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma inspects civic works in Kishtwar town, adjoining areas

Kishtwar : In continuance to the outreach programme, Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma today visited the ward 9 and 10 of the municipal area of Kishtwar town and it’s adjoining areas to inspect the civic works, besides took first hand appraisal of pace of on-going developmental works.He was accompanied by Vice president Municipal Council Kishtwar Sanjeet Kotwal; EO Municipal Council Kishtwar Tariq Balwan,Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramood kumar, CMO Kishtwar Dr R S Manhass, ,XEn PHE Anil Kailu, member Councillor ward number 9 Shabir Ahmed, councilor ward number 10 Diksha Gupta, AEE PWD Kishtwar Masood U Rafiq Mintoo besides other concerned.During his inspection in ward number 9 and 10 the councillors apprised him of the various public issues pertaining to the acute scarcity of water which the people of the ward is facing besides issues related to the proper maintenance and upgradation of drainage system was also highlighted during the inspection.DC Kishtwar directed Xen PHE to take concrete steps to redress the grievances of people and ensure that the water supply could be regularised in these wards.On the issues pertaining to the drainage system from the GHSS (Girls) to the City Middle school alongside the road and drainage system upto and beyond the Madinatul Uloom Madrasa area, the DC directed the Tehsildar & EO Municipality to resolve the land dispute and other encumbrances to provide relief to the residents .The PWD authorities were asked to initiate the work tendered under the district plan immediately and to implement the IDMT plan and to take up the works under “My Town My Pride” the funds for which have been released.

During the interaction with the locals, the DC assured the people that all the civil works in the municipal limits shall be completed in a time bound manner.He sensitised the locals to follow CAB to avert the 3rd wave and asked to register for the PMJAY-SEHAT scheme to avail the beneficiary schemes.Meanwhile, DC Kishtwar also visited the District Hospital Kishtwar and took first hand appraisal of progress on the ongoing developmental works there which includes an additional 100 bedded IPD block undertaken by JKPCC under PMDP, the 1500 lpm Oxygen Generation plant under PM care besides reviewing the installation work.The PWD Authorities apprised the DC that the civil work on the 1000 lpm is in full swing informed that the equipment have been partially fitted and will be completed for commissioning very soon.Whereas executing authorities informed that the superstructure of 2nd unit of OGP of the capacity of 500 lpm is in progress & shall be completed within 10 days and the remaining civil work will be completed by 15th of September 2021.DC Kishtwar directed PWD to expedite the pace of the work besides to stick to the timeline as the completion of the OGP will prove to be a shot in arm by the district administration in the COVID 19 mitigation.He further said that it is a lifeline project keeping in view the Covid-19 scenario and it should be taken on priority basis for the safety and security of the patients.The DC also checked the attendance of the staff and asked the MS DH Kishtwar to ensure the punctuality of staff and ensure the availability of essential Medicare facilities in the Hospital.Meanwhile, the DC along with ADC Kishori Lal Sharma and Tehsildar Pramood Kumar inspected the Sarkoot to Pochhal road and reviewed the various bottlenecks on the spot.He directed Tehsildar to remove the encroachment and other bottlenecks to ensure that the up-gradation and maintenance work is done in hassle free manner.
