DEO Jammu flags off SVEEP Express to spread awareness about SSR’22

Emphasizes on enrolment of all 18 year old youth

Jammu : Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Avny Lavasa, who is also the District Election Officer, along with Dy. DEO Rameshwar Kumar, today flagged off a vehicle designated as SVEEP Express from the DC Office complex to spread awareness among the masses about Special Summary Revision (SSR), 2022.

The SVEEP Express was flagged off to intensify activities under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program (SVEEP) on Special Summary Revision, 2022.The major focus of the campaign is to register the youth who have attained the qualifying age of 18 years on 1st October 2022 as the electors in the Electoral Roll.

The DEO, while speaking on the occasion, said that SVEEP Express will go to every Panchayat, Patwar Halqa, Village and educational institutions across the district to disseminate information about SSR-2022 among the public.

“Besides, it will share the details of election material including electoral forms like 6, 6B, 7, 8 and give a demo for filling these forms,” she added.The DEO further explained about the prescribed forms viz Form 6 for registration as Elector/Voter, Form 6-B for Information of Aadhaar number by existing electors, Form-7 for objection and self deletion and Form 8 for correction/shifting of voters’ name to be filled and process on ERO-NET by respective BLO.

Later, District Election Officer Jammu, directed to carry out the activities for greater electoral participation Carried out by District Nodal Officer , SVEEP, Devinder Singh Manhas and his Team by sensitising the masses in general and newly eligible voters in particular to register as voters during SSR which is going on since 1st August, 2022.

DEO also urged the students to come forward and share the message amongst all so that greater participation can be ensured for a healthy democracy.
