DDC Rajouri Vikas Kundal presides over public outreach camp at Gambhir Muglian

Rajouri : To redress the public grievances at their doorsteps, the District Administration Rajouri on Wednesday organised a public outreach camp at Gambhir Muglian area of block Manjakote under the aegis of weekly Block Diwas programme.

The event was presided over by the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.BDC Manjakote, Shamshad Begum; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; ACD, Vijay Kumar; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh, LDM, Jyoti Prakash Sharma; Tehsildar, Javed Chowdhary and other district and sectoral officers, Sarpanches, panches, and people in large numbers attended the event.

The public and their representatives apprised the DDC about several issues and demands of their areas. They demanded macadamisation of roads, augmentation of health facilities, up-gradation of schools, meeting paucity of staff in government institutions etc.

Specific issues projected during the event were the construction of a building for Niabat, repair and renovation of PWD Dakbunglow Manjakote and PHC Gambhir Muglan, meeting paucity of staff at PHC Gambhir Muglan, shortage of electric wires, scarcity of water, etc.

Some more demands projected included the renovation of GMS building Gambhir Muglan, inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G, meeting paucity of staff at GMS Gargalla, construction of boundary wall of HSS Gambhir Muglanetc.

The Officers of different departments also highlighted the benefits of the schemes and programs being implemented in the district and motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the queries about their departments raised by the public during the event.

The DDC gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands projected by the public during the event and passed on-spot directions to the concerned officers to take adequate measures to redress the genuine public concerns in a time-bound manner.

Addressing the participants, the DDC said that the District Administration is holding such grievance redressal camps to take an appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment and to ensure their time-bound solution.

“Persistent efforts are being made to provide quality services to the common masses, that too at their doorsteps to ensure that they don’t face any inconvenience,” he said.Referring to scores of self-employment generation schemes, he urged the local youth to avail the benefits of the same to earn livelihood with dignity and honor and become job providers too.

Seeking the active cooperation of the general public in the developmental process, he said that although the Distt Admin is working at its full potential for the holistic development of the district, active cooperation from the general public is a must in this regard.

Responding to the demand for renovation of different roads, he asked the concerned officers to take adequate measures in this regard and repair the roads as soon as possible.Regarding water scarcity, the DDC assured that all the district households would be provided functional tap water connections with the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission.

“All your grievances have been documented and the same will be redressed in a time bound manner with the intervention of the concerned quarters,” he added. During the event, the participants were also educated about the ill effects of drugs on health, while the parents were asked to keep a close watch on their children and immediately take cognizance if they notice anything suspicious or if there is a change in behavior of their children.
