DDC Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan reviews working, performance of Education department

Doda : A meeting to review the performance of the School Education department was held today here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Education Officer, Zonal education officers of Assar, Bhagwah, Bhalla, Bhatyas, Doda, Gundna, ZEPO Bhalesa and representatives from Zone Ghat, and Auditor Samagra Shiksha District Doda.

The main issues discussed were preparing the students for the examination in view of the changes made in the recent government decision for uniform examination pattern i.e March session throughout the UT.

It was stressed by the deputy commissioner that the entire syllabus must be completed by 30th of November. He directed for the required rationalization of staff and making use of ICT Labs to share the Teaching resources to achieve the desired targets.

He asked to start a test series for board classes in the first week of December so that the students are groomed to pay due attention to preparation for exams in winter tutorials.The DDC also said that the feasibility may be assessed for poling up of staff in two or more schools.

Result target was set to 90% for the forthcoming examinations as it was below 70% for the last year. Administrators were informed not to call teachers to the office frequently and let them do their best on academic sides only.

Regarding Mid Day Meals, the DC stressed to provide a balanced diet to the children by adding local green vegetables to the menu. The DDC reiterated that Biometric attendance/Punctuality will be the priority and asked the concerned to ensure 100% installation of biometric attendance devices by the end of October 2022.

The meeting decided that all the attachments, except on rationalization basis, shall be cancelled and teachers should be asked to report to their original places of posting. Attendance shall also be reported through geo tagged photos and ZEOs shall visit the schools atleast for 2 days in a week.

Assured Minimum Facilities i.e Drinking water, Toilet facility and Electricity supply to the schools was also discussed and it was stressed to make 100% coverage for AMF at least by the end of November 2022.
