Doda : District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, reviewed functioning of Rural Development Department in the district, here today.The meeting thoroughly reviewed the status of ongoing works taken in hand under various schemes till date, persondays generated under MGNREGA since relaxation besides taking stock of physical and financial status of 14th FC works, B2V projects, SBM, PMAY etc.While reviewing the status of the works under new plan of MNREGA 20-21, DDC fixed timeline of 15 days for the BDO’s to ensure the start of 50% works in all the ward’s across the district besides asking them to complete all the SOS works within the 15 days without any fail.Reviewing progress on rejected transactions issue, DDC has been informed that more than Rs 20 lakh rejected amount has been reimbursed in the accounts verified till now and the process of account verification is going on and in the upcoming days whole of the rejected transaction amount will be reimbursed in the accounts of the beneficiaries.Assessing completion of PMAY houses, the DDC set target of completion of 20% houses by all the BDO’s by the end of July saying that the district administration has planned completion of all the houses by March 2021.DDC also directed the BDO’s to serve the notices within 7 days to those beneficiaries who have received the first installment but not started the construction of their PMAY houses yet. If again they fail to start the work then their land will be attached to the revenue department with immediate effect.
The DDC also emphasized that works taken up under 14th FC, B2V are monitored as per prescribed guidelines and concerned BDOs were directed to conduct regular monitoring. He asked BDOs to involve the BDC’S and local PRI members of their respective areas in expeditious completion of all development projects in their respective areas.Meanwhile, DDC asked the CPO Doda to notify the dates for special Adhaar camp in the first week of the upcoming month so that beneficiaries without Adhaar card can be registered on Awass plus. He also directed the BDO’s to delete the double entries made in the left out beneficiaries under SBM. He also directed them to make the payments under the SBM and utilise all the available funds and furnish the UC’s in the office of DPO without any fail.The DDC said that the Department of Rural Development has capacity and potential to absorb huge labour class by providing them alternate employment opportunities. We are capable of transforming socio economic standards of underprivileged and weaker sections of rural parts of the UT.The DDC directed BDOs, Engineers and other concerned to understand completely the needs, scope and potential of their respective areas and formulate and implement development plans accordingly. He cautioned them of adopting status quo approach asking them to work with pro-active and people friendly approach to make their blocks a model entity for inspiration of others.The meeting among others was attended by CPO, ACD, DPO Doda, Executive Engineer REW, BDOs besides other concerned.
