DDC Chairperson Ramban launches work on Dhalwa -Mahakund road, listens to people’s issues

Ramban : Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan today kick-started construction work on Rs 8.17 crore Dhalwa -Mahakund road project being constructed under Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY).

BDC Member Sangaldan, Naveda Begum; Officers of PMGSY, Sarpanches, Panches and prominent citizens, locals were also present on the occasion. Addressing the locals, Dr. Shan informed that the road from Dalwa to Mahakund via Mongoli was an up-gradation scheme of PMGSY Phase- 3 and it would provide surface connectivity to a population of 50000 souls of 5 major villages namely Dalwa, Mahakund, Sheerkund, Bolnitop and Mangoli having 5000 households.

She said that the government was committed to meet the genuine demands of the people and the PRIs should bring public demands and issues in the notice of the administration for their timely redressal.

Meanwhile, the Executive Engineer PMGSY, Arvind Langeh said that the road was an up-gradation scheme wherein the department will use new technology for road construction by using waste plastic for laying bitumen.

While interacting with the people the Chairperson informed about the initiatives taken by the District Development Council and the government departments especially for the development of the rural and far-flung areas of the district.

After listening to issues and demands highlighted by the locals, the Chairperson directed the concerned officers to resolve all genuine issues especially pertaining to the basic amenities.

The Chairperson also inspected various developmental projects being executed under different sectors in the area, besides taking review of the implementation of developmental and flagship schemes meant for the welfare of weaker sections of the society.
