DDC Chairman Kathua reviews achievements under Capex budget, District Development Fund

Council decides to hold monthly meet to review progress of creation of quality assets

Kathua : District Development Council Chairperson, Kathua Mahan Singh, today reviewed the implementation of District Development Plan under District Capex Budget 2022-23 here at the District Council meeting held in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

Vice Chairperson DDC, Raghunandan Singh; District Development Commissioner, Rahul Pandey; Additional District Development Commissioner, Ankur Mahajan; Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh; BDCs, DDCs along with BDOs attended the meeting.

At the outset, the council paid tributes to the deceased Ex-Sarpanch of Panchayat Kishanpur Kandi of Block Barnoti and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. The DDC Chairperson took a comprehensive review of physical and financial progress achieved on developmental works being executed by different agencies in the district during the current fiscal.

He stressed on creation of quality assets keeping in view the laid down parameters, besides ensuring completion of works within set timelines.Terming the role of PRIs as a significant participant in development, the DDC Chairperson stressed on their active involvement in implementation of works by physically monitoring and checking the works at grassroots level so as to rule out any compromise in creation of quality assets.

While reviewing the Mining sector, the DDC directed for constituting a committee to explore additional Mining blocks in the district so as to cater to the growing demands for developmental works.The council also decided unanimously to take monthly review of the developmental works being executed in the district.

The DC called upon field functionaries and members of council to work in close coordination and keep liaison with executing agencies so as to regularly monitor the progress of development works besides ensuring quality works.

Earlier, SE Hydraulic gave a powerpoint presentation on progress achieved under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district and also discussed the roadmap for covering all 299 schemes.ACD Kathua Kishore Singh Katoch informed the council about the organisation of PMAY camps which have been scheduled w.e.f 21-27 November across the district with the view to filter out the eligible and ineligible beneficiaries under PMAY.

He also urged PRIs to play the role of messenger by carrying forward the message about the camps so that maximum people could get benefitted.
