Takes stock of work progress on Mamath Bridge, cleanliness on Humhama-Budgam road

Budgam : District Development Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today chaired a public interaction programme conducted at Migrant Colony Sheikhpora.Speaking at the occasion, DDC said that, “public interaction programme is a platform to bridge gap between public and Administration, public in general has accepted such initiatives with good faith.”He stressed upon the gathering consisting of Kashmiri Pandit Migrants to register genuine demands and grievances and assured them prompt redressal to all genuine issues and demands.He said that all accompanying district and sectoral officers have been instructed that all genuine demands and grievances registered shall be processed for onward course of action.The issues which were raised by Migrant Colony dwellers were improvement of approach road & internal lanes of Colony, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, maintenance of park, installation of more dust bins and street lights, construction of Library, removal of debris of buildings material, issuance of ration cards for left out inhabitants and robust drainage system.Responding to these demands, the DDC assured that aim and objective to bring administration at door steps of public is to have an on spot assessment of requirements and other basic needs at Migrant Colony. He said concerned officers have already enlisted all such genuine demands and many of these demands will get addressed soon.

The DDC issued on spot direction to XEN R&B to macadamize approach road immediately while as improvement of internal lanes shall be kept in plan besides formulation of Detailed Project Report for Library and effective drainage system in Migrant Colony. The DDC also directed XEN Relief to conduct survey of all buildings and prepare DPR of buildings having water leakages simultaneously ensuring removal of debris of buildings material at an earliest. The DDC instructed the concerned to ensure installation of more dust bins, street lights and issuance of ration cards for remaining inhabitants at an earliest.The DDC was informed by XEN KPDCL that receiving stations at Humhama and Ompora are going to be completed soon which will eventually help to improve power supply to Sheikhpora including Migrant Colony.The public interaction programme was also attended by ACD, ACP, CEO, BMO, all EXENs, Tehsildar Budgam, other officers and officials concerned.Later on, the DDC also took stock of cleanliness along roadside from Humhama to Budgam and Directed the E.O Municipal Committee and ACP to ensure lifting of garbage along roadside. The DDC also inspected demolition site where illegal encroachment was noticed. The DDC stressed upon necessary permission from competent authority before any construction comes up in the area and said that strict action against violators shall be taken under law. While inspecting the pace of work on Bridge at Mamath coming up at project cost of 1 crore, the DDC exhorted upon executing agency to complete remaining work on war footing basis.
