DC Samba Abhishek Sharma inspects Market areas in Samba township, directs for 100% litter free zones
Samba : Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of Samba market to take stock of the cleanliness and sanitation.During the tour, he inspected the drains and flyovers in the vicinity and observed that there were major blockages in the free flow of drain water due to polythene, waste material, and other debris.
He also noted that during rainy days, the nearby lanes get submerged in water due to poor drainage.The DC directed the Executive Officer of the Municipality Council Samba to ensure that there is zero littering and zero garbage in the drains and that the drains are free from blockages due to garbage.
He also issued directions to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to clear the blockages caused by concrete debris and repair the channels.The DC stressed on the importance of immediate compliance with the directions by the officers concerned and urged them to take swift action to ensure that the cleanliness situation in the area is improved.
He also appealed to the people to not litter the area and to cooperate with the administration in maintaining cleanliness.To address the issue of waste management, the administration has started door-to-door waste collection in the area. The DC warned that strict action, including the imposition of fines, will be taken against those who violate the cleanliness norms.
He emphasized that there is zero tolerance for littering and garbage dumping in the area.The DC also highlighted the importance of allied sectors, such as sanitation, waste management, and drainage, in ensuring the overall development of the district.
