DC presents award to render meritorious services in plantation/Afforestation

Kishtwar : Marwah Forest Division organised a function for presenting an award for rendering Meritorious Services in Plantation/Afforestation.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Davansh Yadav was the chief guest on the occasion, Jatendra Kuimar Singh, Conservator of Forest, Chenab Circle Doda also graced the occasion alongwith Sagar Singh, DFO SFS, DFO Kishtwar and Majid Bashir Mintoo, Wildlife Warden Chenab Division.

Besides Tahir Masood, BDC, Palmar, Suresh Sharma, BDC Kishtwar, Azad Hussain Sarpanch Warwan, Dr. Vikram Jamwal, District Nodal Officer, Ayush, Dr. Fasil Mushtaq Kichloo, Assistant Professor, Botancy Govt. Degree College Kishwar and PRIs, Children from various schools also attend the function.

The function was organized to present an award for rendering meritorious services in Plantation/Afforstation to be presented to Shahzada Begum, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa, and Upper Palmar for actively participating in plantation drives under JK Green Drive & providing helping hand and full support in extinguishing forest fires.

Cash award of Rs. 20,000 was presented to Ahahzada Begum, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa, and Upper Palmar by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.

The function started with the welcome address by Intikhab Alam, I/C BO of Marwah Forest Division who requested Vijay Kumar, Division Forest Officer, Marwah to throw light on presenting the award in connection with World Forestry Day to be celebrated on 21st of March 2023.

The DFO Marwah in his address precisely summarized that Upper Panchayat Palmar has actively participated in various plantation drives organized by the Marwah Forest Division & has also helped in extinguishing forest fires on various occasions.

Dr. Jatindra Kumar Singh, Conservator of Forests, Chenab Circle, Doda also spoke on the occasion and in his brief speck he said “the need of the hour is to conserve the Forest as due to global warming the glaciers are melting rapidly and by the dint of which there will be water crisis so the only way to tackle this problem is Afforestation only so, I request you to plant more and more plants as you can”.

He also congratulated Shahzada Begum, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Upper Palmar for rendering meritorious services in plantation/Afforestation. He also urged the others to come forward and participate in plantation drives organized by the Forest department.

Deputy Commissioner also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the rich Biodiversity of district Kishtwar and stressed the general masses present on the occasion about conserving the Biodiversity of district Kishtwar which is highly rich in natural resources.

He also urged the students to plant trees and get knowledge about their uses and importance as well. He also requested to install the stalls at Synthan Top on the occasion of the Snow Festival to be celebrated by the District Administration Kishtwar on 19th of March 2023 besides; he congratulated Smt. Shahzada Begum, Sarpanch Panchayat Jalqa Upper Palmar.

Among the others who spoke on the occasion were Tahir Masood, DDC Palmar, Lalita Devi, BDC Palmar, Smt.
