DC Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav presides over the Nasha Mukt Diwas at Panchayat Sigdi B1

Kishtwar : To strengthen the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav in presence of SSP Kishtwar Khalil Ahmed Poswal today presided over the Special Couselling/ awareness programme under Nasha Mukht Divas organised here at Government High School Sigdi of Panchayat Sigdi B1 of Sub-division Chatroo.

SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar, CMO Dr. Mohd Youqub Mir, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, BDO Saima Ramzan, Nodal Officer Addiction Treatment Facility Centre DH Kishtwar/ Drug De-addiction Counsellor Dr. Arif Rasid, besides field functionaries of concerned department were present on the occasion.

Various speakers including the Nodal Officer Addiction Treatment Centre District Hospital Kishtwar Dr. Arif Rashid, Teachers and Local PRI spoke on the issue of the Drug addiction menace in the society and urged administration to make concrete efforts to eradicate the problem.

While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged every parent to take due care of their young children through proper counselling so that the children and youth are kept away from the evils of drug abuse.

He said that Panchayt Sigdi B1 will be the first Nasha Mukht Panchayat in the district. The DC highlighted the role and responsibilities of the Youth club members, ICDS workers, Social welfare department, Addiction treatment centre of District Hospital besides religious organisations in the fight against the drug abuse.

He also threw light on the significance of games and sports besides various recreational and tourism activities rolled out by district administration in this regard. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Kishtwar threw light on the various soft and hard interventions taken by Police administration to curb this menace from the district Kishtwar.

A Nasha Mukt pledge was also administered on the occasion. DC also listened to the grievances and demands of people of various panchayats of Block Mughal Maidan.

SDM Chatroo also presented some demands submitted by locals of the Sigdi B1 Panchayat to DC Kishtwar which includes the upgradation of HS Sigdi, posting of doctors in NTPHC Sigdi among others.

The Deputy Commissioner assured them that their genuine demanded and issues will be redressed in time bound manner. Meanwhile, DC inspected the building of the Higher Secondary Sigdi and passed necessary directions to ZEO Inderwal to repair it immediately for the safety of students. A free medical checkup and screening camp was also organised on the occasion.
