DC Kishtwar chairs Weekly Block Diwas meeting at Drabshalla

Inspects progress on Kandni-Ohli road at Kuntwara

Kishtwar : To redress the grievances of the people at their doorsteps and take the first hand appraisal of the developmental scenario in the district, Block Diwas programmes were today held here at Block headquarter Drabshalla under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Ashok Sharma with due observance of COVID-19 protection protocol.DDC Councilor Drabshalla-A Ashok Parihar; ACR Akhter Hussain Qazi; ACD Kishore Singh Katoch; DSWO Tariq Parveaz Qazi; CHO, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani; Tehsildar Drabshalla Arun Kumar; BDO Drabshalla Sobia Shaad besides District and sectoral officers, PRs and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.The elected representatives highlighted the demands of their respective areas and sought upgradation of education & health institutions; road infrastructure and streamlining of the service delivery mechanism.

Most of the grievances were redressed by the DC on the spot by passing a slew of directions to the concerned departments. The departments were also asked to address the rest of the issues in a time bound manner.The Deputy Commissioner also apprised the masses about the various pro-people initiatives taken by the government of UT of J&K under umbrella Campaign run in the UT and in the district in particular, which includes “Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani”; Yogyata Se Rojgar Mahotsav; Janta Ki Scheme-Janta Ki Bhagidari; One Person One Golden Card; Har Ghar Nal Se Jal; Berojgar Se Swa-Rojgar; Har Kam Ki Shuruat; Har Gaon Swachh Gaon; Har Gaon Hariyali; Har Ghar Dastak.He urged PRIs to spread mass awareness at grassroots level about “AAP KI ZAMEEN AAP KI NIGRANI”- the online digital platform containing digitized revenue records. He said the platform ensures easy access to land records to every citizen, which will save both their time and energy in getting their crucial revenue documents.

Besides, he urged the people to actively participate in the gram sabhas to strengthen participatory grassroots level democracy.The people were also informed about the procedure for availing benefits of government schemes by the departments.Meanwhile, 18 Forest Rights Act certificates were distributed among the applicants.Later, the DC Kishtwar, along with ACR, ACD, Tehsildar, BDO and Xen PMGSY conducted spot inspection of the Kandani-ohali (Kuntwara) road.The locals of the area demanded early completion of the approaching road as it is the only life line for this far flung hilly area. The Executive Engineer PMGSY was directed to mobilize men and resources to expedite the pace of the work so that the road was completed in all respects in stipulated time.En-route, the DC also inspected the NHIDCL tunnel at Kulgarh.
