Commissioner Secretary Forest reviews development scenario in Rajouri

Asks officers to accelerate pace of progress for expeditious completion; Emphasizes quality works

Rajouri : Commissioner Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Sanjeev Verma, who is also in charge for development of Rajouri district, today reviewed implementation of Centre and Union Territory sponsored development schemes here in a meeting held with the concerned officers.Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; Commander 31 BRTF, KRJ Reddy; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; SE PWD, GM DIC, Manzoor Hussain; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.The Commissioner Secretary asked the Executing Agencies to speed up the pace of progress on all development works being executed in the district under different schemes ensuring expeditious completion of these projects of vital public importance. He also asked for maintaining quality while executing works on development projects for creation of durable assets.Commissioner Secretary asked the concerned officers from RDD to make sure that all the houses sanctioned under PMAY-G in the district are completed by the end of March 2022 besides ensuring timely payments to the beneficiaries under the scheme.

Regarding discouraging use of single-use plastic, Commissioner Secretary directed for generating massive awareness among the common masses about the harmful effects of plastic on health and environment and motivate them to go for eco-friendly alternatives of polythene.Highlighting the need to promote self employment generation activities in the district, Commissioner Secretary asked the concerned to make dedicated efforts to generate employment avenues for unemployed youth. He also instructed the concerned officer from the Labour Department to generate massive awareness among the public about various Welfare schemes being implemented by the department in the district to enable them to avail the benefits of these schemes.He also issued instructions to the concerned authorities for coverage of all eligible beneficiaries under the Forest Right Act so that they can be provided necessary benefits under the Act.Regarding the District Capex Budget, the meeting was informed that out of Rs 919.59 crore approved for 2021-22 an amount of Rs 253.35 crore has been released and an expenditure of Rs 59.96 crore has been incurred, so far.While reviewing PWD(R&B) sector, Commissioner Secretary was informed that out of 6 schemes under CRF, work on 2 schemes has been completed while 4 are under progress. Besides, out of 52 schemes approved under NABARD 9 have been completed while work on 24 is in progress.

Commissioner Secretary, while reviewing PDD sector, took a detailed review of various centrally sponsored schemes including IPDS, PMDP Urban, DDUGJY and PMDP Rural.While reviewing progress on PMGSY, the meeting was informed that out of 91 schemes targeted for 2021-22, work on 16 schemes has been completed while the rest of the schemes are in different phases of execution. It was informed that out of 4361 works taken up in 2020-21, 342 have been completed generating 4.56 lakh mandays under MGNREGA.Reviewing the performance of Labour department, Commissioner Secretary was informed that about 12115 workers have been registered and 375 beneficiaries have been covered under JKBOCWWB during this financial year providing Rs 49.20 lakh have been provided to the beneficiaries as financial assistance. Besides, progress regarding registration of labourers on E Shram Portal was also reviewed.Commissioner Secretary, while assessing progress made under SEHAT scheme, was told that out of 637312 beneficiaries of the district, as many as 355219 have been registered under the scheme and 346703 golden cards have been issued to the beneficiaries.

Discussing status of works identified during B2V1, B2V2 and B2V3, Commissioner Secretary was apprised that 200 works had been taken up under B2V1 and B2V2, of which, 142 stand completed. Besides, 955 works have been identified during B2V3, of which, 921 have been tendered and 361 have been allotted while work on 32 works has been completed.While reviewing progress under PMAY-G, against the target of construction of 30661 houses in the district, as many as 9489 houses have been completed while out of 1530 houses, work on 437 has been completed under PMAY-U.Regarding Jal Jeevan Mission, the meeting was informed that 293 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 1550.52 crore have been approved for coverage of 380 villages.Commissioner Secretary also reviewed achievements of all other departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, FCS&CA, Social Welfare, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Employment Department and others.Earlier, DC gave a detailed Power Point Presentation about the sector wise progress achieved under major projects besides highlighting status of key flagship schemes including District Capex budget, MGNREGA, PMAY, NRLM, AIBP, SAMAGRA, ICDS, BADP, JJM, PMGSY, CRF, NABARD, SBM, MDM, Soil Health Card, PM Kisan, ODOP, NAIP, NADCP, NSAP, SMAS, PM Ujjwalla and PMMSY.
