CEO Udhampur Arvin Kumar Koul inaugurates Life Skills Training

Udhampur : Directorate of School Education Jammu, in collaboration with Bharti Foundation has initiated the project of inculcating 10 Life Skills among School Students through strengthening the existing House Systems in the schools.

In this connection, a two day offline Training on life skills was inaugurated today at SIKS HSS Boys Udhampur by Chief Education Office Udhampur, Arvin Kumar Koul. As many as 52 Nodal Officers, nominated by the Principals Complex Incharge, attended the training being conducted by the Resource Persons of Bharti foundation and District counseling coordinators, Renu Kotwal, Sr. Lecturer and Vinod Bhardwaj Teacher.

The training is being conducted to create Resource persons to strengthen the existing House System in the schools which aims to infuse Life skills among Students by innovative techniques which are in consonance with National Education Policy 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Education officer said, “Strengthening of the House System will create a healthy competition among the students. It will help in building skills, self-confidence and a sense of respect in the democratic institutions among the students as under the house system, the students have to nominate Captain and Vice captains through democratic election process.”

It is pertinent to mention here that already four Houses are working effectively in the schools named as Eco House, Peace House, Well Being House and Wisdom House. These House systems also play a very important role in morning assemblies and in conducting academic and non-academic activities.
The trainee Resource Persons will be trained to adopt and integrate life skills approach in the day to day life activities.
