Block Diwas : Public Outreach Programme held at Basohli

DDC Chairperson bats for time bound redressal of grievances, timely completion of development projects

Kathua : The Block Diwas proceedings were held at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Basohli today, where DDC Chairperson Mahan Singh and Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey listened to the grievances of the people.

On the occasion, individuals and public deputations highlighted their issues ranging from provisions of Basic Amenities like Water, Electricity and Road connectivity, besides issues of shortage of staff in Schools and several specific issues.

The DDC Chairperson, in his address, laid thrust taking all the stakeholders on board through participatory development to achieve the objective of sustainable development.After listening to the issues of the locals, the DC redressed many grievances on the spot by passing a slew of directions to the concerned officers.

He assured the public that all their genuine grievances shall be redressed in a time bound manner.The DC directed the officers to work in tandem to achieve equitable development of rural areas.The concerned officers also addressed the public and assured early redress of their issues.

On the issue of slow pace of roads and construction works, the Deputy Commissioner expressed hope that the development works will see faster progress after the end of the ongoing rainy season.

The DC informed that the demand of up-gradation of schools projected during the previous block diwas meeting has been taken up with higher authorities for appropriate action.Similarly, Block Diwas proceedings were held at Billawar sub division.
