Block Diwas : DDC Rajouri Vikas Kundal presides over public outreach camp at Thanamandi

Listens to people's issues; urges public to avail varied online govt services

Rajouri : To redress public grievances at their doorsteps, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a public grievances redressal camp organised as a part of weekly Block Diwas here at Thanamandi.

Among the others present at the event were DDC, Member Thanamandi, Abdul Qayoom Mir; President MC Thanamandi, Shakeel Mir; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SDM Thanamandi, Vikas Dhar; AC Defence, Saleem Qureshi; ACD, Vijay Kumar; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh and other district and sectoral officers.

During the event, the public and their representatives raised a number of issues and demands of their areas including macadamization of roads, upgradation of government institutions, paucity of staff, better health care facilities etc.

Specific issues raised during the event included early completion of JJM projects, renovation of Halplote to Dhok road, meeting paucity of staff at GHS Azmtabad, HWC at Rajdhani to be made functional, renovation condition of revenue complex etc.

Some more issues projected were sanctioning of a fire service station, augmentation of water supply, meeting shortage of electricity poles, release of material payment under MGNREGA, ambulance service for PHC Thanamandi etc.

The Officers of different departments also briefed the public about the government schemes being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the public queries pertaining to their departments.

ADDC, Pawan Kumar, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted a number of Govt schemes and programs meant for the welfare of the general public and urged them to avail the benefits of the same.He also advised the public representatives and officers to work in tandem for the overall development of the district.

The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.Addressing the event, the DDC said that the District Administration is making untiring efforts to redress the genuine concerns of the public and sought the active cooperation of all the stakeholders in this regard.

Talking about the measures being taken for the inclusive, all-round and substantial development of all the areas of the district, he said that much emphasis is being laid to push every sector to take the district to newer heights and new levels of prosperity.

Referring to several government schemes and programs meant for the welfare of the general public, he urged the people to come forward and avail the benefits of the same.He asked the concerned officers to publicize the schemes of their departments so that the maximum number of target population could take benefits out of the schemes.

He also urged the public to avail themselves of the benefits of various online services of different departments.Enumerating scores of measures being taken to curb the menace of drug abuse, the DDC said that people’s cooperation is a must to make Rajouri a drugs free district.

Responding to the issues and demands raised by the general public, he exhorted the officers to take immediate measures to mitigate the problems of the people highlighted during the public outreach program.

He further stressed on youth to take benefit of spurring entrepreneurship initiative of Mission Youth to set up start ups.Regarding the upgradation of PHC Thanamandi, the DDC assured that he will take up the matter with the concerned authorities.

For the paucity of staff, he asked the CMO to take appropriate measures to resolve the issue.He also assured the public that all their grievances have been documented and all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner with the intervention of the concerned quarters.

Later, he also distributed land pass books among the beneficiaries.Meanwhile, the DDC also inspected the progress on the treasury office building at Thanamandi. He was informed that the estimated cost of the project is Rs 1.12 crore and the project would be completed by the end of March 2023.
