Block Diwas: DC, SSP Ramban listen to public issues at Batote

Ramban : Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today presided over the weekly Block Diwas camp here at Batote. Similar camps were also held at four other designated locations including Ramban, Banihal, Sangaldan and Ukhral blocks.BDC Chairman, Batote, Rajeshwar Kumar; SSP, Haseeb-ur-Rehman; DDC, Member, Jagveer Dass; CEO, PDA, Sachin Dev Singh Jamwal; ACD, Zameer Ahmed; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dhirender Sharma, and various other senior officers from different departments besides PRIs, MC members and a large number of people attended Block Diwas.The DC listened patiently to the issues raised by the public during block diwas and asked the concerned departments for early redress of the same. Speaking on the occasion, the DC gave a brief resume of initiatives taken by the district administration to redress the public grievances, besides improving the public delivery system.Responding to the issue of falling business in Batote area due to the diversion of traffic through Chanani- Nashri tunnel, the Deputy Commissioner constituted a committee headed by ACR to look into creation of opportunities in the tour and travel sector. He directed the AD Tourism to explore the possibilities to accelerate economic activities under the tourism sector in Ramban besides providing logistic support to local youth to set up business at Sanasar and Patnitop. Responding to the issues pertaining to PDA, the CEO assured the public that he shall propose certain projects to boost the tourism activities in Batote and catchment area. Earlier, PRIs and locals of Block Batote including Thopal, Chakwa , Dharmoond, Bomwari, Sana, Sanasar, Rakhjrogh and Shampa Panchayats apprised the DC about their issues related to basic needs. They demanded augmentation of power and water supply infrastructure, Extension of Aadhar enrollment drive, enhancement of wages of MGNREGA workers, ambulance alongwith driver for Sanasar, water sports activities in Baghlihar Dam, renovation of schools, adequate staff in health and education institutions, up-gradation of link roads, sanction of PMAY houses, solar lights for Panchayats, repair of hand pumps, employment for youth in ongoing national projects and other issues of public interest.The DC directed the officers to resolve all the issues pertaining to their respective departments.In his address the SSP sought support from the public to eradicate drug trafficking.
