B2V-4 witnesses massive public participation at Shopian

Regional Director, S&LR Abdul Hafiz Shah visits Panchayat Halqa Reban; interacts with PRIs, locals

Shopian : Back to Village-4 is witnessing massive participation of people in all blocks of the district.On the occasion, a number of activities were conducted in all 33 Panchayat Halqas spanning across the blocks.

Regional Director, Survey & Land Records (S&LR), Abdul Hafiz Shah today visited Reban, Shopian as Visiting Officer under ongoing ambitious “Back to Village” programme to assess the development issues of the Panchayat.

He met PRIs and locals, interacted with them, listened to them patiently to take stock of their genuine demands pertaining to their respective areas.While interacting with the people, the Regional Director said that the ‘Back to Village’ Programme is to ensure public participation of people in the local governance setup.

He toured Panchayat Halqa and inspected development activities. He sought feedback from the general public on the effectiveness of welfare schemes as well as developmental activities being executed in their respective areas.

On this occasion, the Officers of various departments briefed about the benefits of various centrally Sponsored and other welfare schemes of their departments for awareness of the general public, so that they can avail the benefits of these schemes to stand on their own legs.

SDM Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmad was also present on the occasion.Visiting officers across the district visited their respective Panchayat Halqas and interacted with the officers and officials of line departments, PRI members and general public and inspected various works and other developmental activities and obtained feedback from the general public in implementation of schemes of the Departments.

They urged people to ensure maximum participation and full cooperation in the on-going B2V4 programme.Baby kits under BBBP, Sports kits, Land passbooks and various benefits and services were also provided among the beneficiaries of these areas by the concerned visiting officers.

Visiting officers also made inspections of Schools, Government offices and Anganwari centres during their visit.
