Awareness/ promotional workshop on PM-FME scheme held at Pahalgam

Pahalgam : The Department of Fisheries Anantnag today held a day-long awareness programme on centrally sponsored scheme PM-Formalization of Micro food Processing Entrepreneur (PM-FME) scheme at Pahalgam.

The programme was organised under the chairmanship of District Nodal Officer Anantnag PM-FME (ODOP) scheme and was attended by SDM Pahalgam, President MC Pahalgam and Officers/Officials of other line Departments and a huge gathering of shopkeepers and locals of Pahalgam area.

At the outset, the District Nodal Officer PMFME (ODOP) scheme presented the overall scenario and prospects of the Micro Food Processing sector in the UT. He urged the youth to set up their individual Micro Enterprises, and avail the benefit of credit linked subsidy available under the scheme.

He requested the participants to get registered in the application submission process or visit the PM-FME Home Page. The District Nodal Officer said that interested youth who desire to avail the benefit under the scheme should contact the District Resource Person PMFME scheme for getting assistance in the application submission process, support in DPR preparation, getting a bank loan etc.

SDM Pahalgam, Syed Naseer laid emphasis on Fish Processing, Bakery products, Canning of any food product, pickle making, vegetable and fruit processing etc. The Area Marketing Officer and Horticulture Development Officer also deliberated upon the various schemes for which they can get support under the PM-FME Scheme.

The representatives of various banks of Block Pahalgam assured the participants of any sort of assistance and cooperation under the guidelines of the bank. The workshop was also addressed by the local officials who besides encouraging the youth also appreciated the efforts of District Nodal Officer PM-FME (ODOP) Scheme and requested for organizing more such camps in Block Pahalgam to create general awareness about the scheme in the minds of youth so that they can start their own Employment generating Units under the scheme.

The District Nodal Officer PMFME (ODOP) Scheme expressed his special thanks and gratitude to the officers/officials of line Departments and all the participants for their coordination and cooperation in making the event successful.
