Awareness programmes on Special Summary Revision 2022 held across Ramban

Ramban : The Election Department, Ramban today organised a series of awareness programmes and screened subject based short film in several educational institutions across the district to mobilize the students, especially prospective voters to enroll themselves as voters during the Special Summary Revision 2022 which is being started from September 15, 2022.

The awareness drive was carried out to sensitize the public in general and prospective voters in particular about the Special Summary Revision under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) under the aegis of the District Election Officer, Ramban, Mussarat Islam.

Terming the students as ambassadors of the society, Deputy District Election Officer, Ramban Lal Chand said that they are the messengers who could spread the message regarding Special Summary Revision in every nook and corner of the district and UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

He said that to create awareness about the Special Summary Revision 2022, various awareness programs are being organized in every educational institution and professional college in the district, adding that a short film relating to SSR has also been prepared and the department has made elaborate arrangements for its screening in the educational institutions of the district.

He also appealed to the PRIs, prominent citizens, and members of civil society, saying that they could play a significant role in achieving a cent percent registration of prospective voters.

The DY DEO informed that during the Special Summary Revision, special camps shall also be organized on September 24 & 25 and October 1, 2, 15 & 16, saying that information regarding documents required for registration as the voter has also been displayed on the hoardings and banners installed at prominent places in the district.

Safia Katoch and Salman Ganai students of Government Higher Secondary School Ramban also gave a lecture on SSR 2022 and importance of voters.
