Arrangements for celebration of National Girl Child Day finalized in Rajouri

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today chaired a meeting to discuss and finalize the arrangements for National Girl Child Day in the district. Officers in attendance included ADC, Sachin Dev Singh; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; and DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt.

The day, which will be celebrated on 24 January 2023, is intended to recognize the importance of adolescent girl children and to open opportunities for them to realize their power and potential.

It also seeks to amplify and empower the voices of adolescent girls around the world. Speaking in the meeting, the DDC reiterated the commitment of District Administration to take all possible steps to uplift girls and women in society and to protect their rights.

He called for collaborative efforts to remove gender bias and to encourage girls at all levels to reach their full potential. The DDC also asked the concerned officers to make women aware of various legal and social sector initiatives, so they can take advantage of the same.

He instructed them to celebrate the day with enthusiasm and to ensure that all necessary arrangements for the celebration are in place well in advance.
