17 JJM schemes worth Rs 97.77 crore sanctioned for Rajouri’s Dhangi Block

DDC addresses public issues; stresses on effective greywater management

Rajouri : To redress public grievances at their doorsteps, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a public grievances redressal camp organised as a part of weekly Block Diwas here at block Dhangri.

BDC Dhangri, Tazeem Akhter; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; ACD, Vijay Kumar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO IWMP, Sheraz Chowhan; DSHO, Dr Safraz Naseem Chowdhury; CEO Education, Shailash Kumari and other districts and sectoral officers were also present.

The public and their representatives raised a number of issues and demands of their areas seeking macadamization of roads, upgradation of Govt institutions, meeting paucity of staff, better health care facilities etc.
Specific issues raised during the event were construction of road from Argi to Kha, scarcity of water, meeting shortage of electricity transformers, check on overcharging of fare, building for PS Sewa Jagir, shortage of staff in health institutions etc.

Other issues included construction of a building for the veterinary centre, avoiding unscheduled power cuts, Paucity of staff in HSS Dalhori.The Officers of different departments also briefed the public about different schemes and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.

They also responded to the queries raised by the public pertaining to their departments.The DDC gave a patient hearing to the issues projected by the public and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.

The DDC said that the District Administration was making untiring efforts to redress the genuine concerns of the public and sought the active cooperation of all the stakeholders in this regard.He also said that effective measures are being taken for inclusive, all-round and substantial development of all the areas of the district with emphasis on to push the district to newer heights and new levels of prosperity.

Referring to scores of Govt schemes and programs meant for the welfare of the general public, he said that the Govt has launched a number of initiatives to meet the aspirations of youth so they can contribute to society and achieve self-growth.

While addressing the issues and demands of the general public, he exhorted the officers to take immediate measures to mitigate the problems of the people highlighted during the public outreach programme.

Responding to the issue of scarcity of water, the DDC informed that 17 JJM schemes have been sanctioned for the block involving an estimated cost of Rs 97.77 crore. “With the commissioning of these schemes all the households of the block will be provided functional tap water connections” he said.

The DDC also appealed to the public to enroll for SEHAT scheme to avail the health insurance benefits. He also stressed on taking effective measures for the grey water management.Taking note of the cases of Lumpy Skin Disease, he asked the concerned officers to take effective disease control measures.

He also assured the public that their grievances have been documented and all their genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased manner with the intervention of the concerned quarters.The DDC also asked the concerned officers to gear up their field machinery and ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest.
