New Delhi : Authors Nasira Sharma, Bhagwandas Morwala and Abdul Bismillah spoke about their famous works at Sahitya AajTak 2022 in a session titled, Katara-Katara Kissa. Authors Nasira Sharma, Bhagwandas Morwala and Abdul Bismillah revealed what inspired them to become writers at the Sahitya AajTak 2022 on November 18.

In a session titled, Katara-Katara Kissa, the writers spoke about their famous works, the inspiration behind their novels and the stories that prompted their writings over the years.Bhagwandas Morwala, while talking about his novel Khanzada, said that there is a writer in every person.

He said, “It doesn’t matter whether a person is a writer or not, they have enough anecdotes that they can write two novels in their life. But the real struggle begins when a person tries to come out of their existing experiences and behaviours.

That’s when they need to begin seeking stories.” He shared that novels are like the threads and knots in a sweater that make up a story. Nasira Sharma spoke about the importance of a woman while opening up about her famous novel, Adab Me Baai Pasli.

“When I wanted to write the name of this book, I wanted to write something about a woman. I think life revolves around a woman. There is no story, there is no author, there is no life without her. The most beautiful thing in the universe is a woman.

Respect a woman because she is your bayi pasli (referring to the title of the book),” she said. Abdul Bismillah opened up about the discrimination he faced when he moved to Varanasi. He said that after pursuing his Masters’ degree, he moved to a new city, where he was able to find a rented flat only in a Muslim area.

“When I started living, I faced the biggest problem. It was fine during the day when I went to college, but at night all my neighbours would be busy making banarasi handlooms, so I wasn’t able to read or write or sleep,” he said, adding that despite the situation he was able to finish his most famous work, Jhini Jhini Bini Chadariya.

Nasira Sharma has published over 10 novels in Hindi. Some of her famous works include Paarijat, Ajnabi Jajira, Aurat Ke Liye Aurat, Patthar Gali and Mere Priya Kahaniyaan. She won the Sahitya Akademi Award for her novel Paarijat.
