Directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, this film is a family musical released in January 2011, and is inspired by the modern-age ‘Rapunzel’, who has beautiful long hair that serve multiple purposes, and is confined to live indoors by a woman who claims to be her mother and is doing so to protect her. Rapunzel has always desired to venture into the outer world, which finally turns to reality, when she comes in contact with a good-hearted thief, Flynn, who helps her escape the suffocating four walls of her tower.
#3 Ratatouille
This Oscar winning family comedy rolled out in June 2007, and has been written and directed by Brad Bird. The story revolves around a rat named Remy, who dreams of becoming one fine French chef someday, only to be ignorant of his identity and the fact that people hated rodents and so will he never stand a chance to serve them with his delicious recipes. Remy’s life changes when he meets a garbage boy named Alfredo Linguini, who works at a restaurant in Paris.

Another family musical that is sure to warm your hearts, this one is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, and was released in November 2016.
It depicts a journey filled with bravery and adventure, of a young princess, Moana, who is the daughter of chief Tui. She, being the only chosen one by the ocean to return a magical relic to goddess Te Fetti, sets out on the mission to search for Maui, the legendary demigod, hoping to find the relic and accomplishing her goal, after her island is struck by a blight.
#5 How To Train Your Dragon
Taking us through a heartfelt journey of Hiccup, a Viking teenager, who aspires to become a renowned and respected dragon slayer, following in the footsteps of his ancestors, but rather ends up doing something rare and astonishing, befriending a deadly dragon, Night Furry, and names him Toothless.
Directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, this family adventure marks the first instalment of the superhit movie franchise, and hit theatres in March 2010.
#6 The Little Prince
Adapted from the epic French novella of the same name, the adventure movie has been directed by Mark Osborne and was released in July 2015.
It tells the story of a little girl, who meets her aviator neighbour, and the latter begins narrating her his heartfelt anecdote about ‘The Little Prince’ and how he met him in the Sahara. The story takes the little girl into an imaginary world where she learns about important human virtue and the value of relationships, that it is only through one’s heart that one can truly experience beauty.
#7 King Fu Panda
Another masterpiece by Mark Osborne, this adventure revolves around Po the Panda, who has mastered the art of King Fu, and with a motive of putting his skills to the best use, he sides with the Furious Five and works on the mission of eradicating all the evil forces that are at play in destroying the Valley of Peace, as the ultimate Dragon Warrior.
Marking the first instalment of the highly loved movie franchise, this one was released in 2008 and has been a grand success.
#8 Shrek
Having won an Oscar for the best feature film, this 2001 adventure movie has been adapted from William Steig’s picture book of the same name, and features Shrek, a good-hearted green ogre with a bad temper, as the lead character. Accepting a rescue quest of a princess, the ogre sets on a mission, meeting many friends and forming several acquaintances on the way.
