Kathua Admin, Childline honour frontline Covid workers, social activists

Kathua : District Administration in collaboration with Childline India Foundation – Jay Kay Women Welfare Society today honoured the government functionaries for their relentless contribution in Corona times besides playing role in Child and Women safety related measures, here at a brief ceremony held at DC Office Complex.Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav who was the chief guest presented appreciation letters to the functionaries of various government departments, members of Social organisation and Social workers for their dedicated services towards vulnerable groups during Corona Times.On the occasion, the efforts of DCPU Kathua for rescuing 83 children stranded outside JKUT amid the lockdown were highly appreciated. The special efforts for restoring the mental health of CCIs children were also lauded during the ceremony.Those who were honoured included Principal GMC Kathua, Dr Anjali Nadir Bhatt, District Programme Officer, ICDS Kathua, Ritu Mahajan; DSWO / DCPO Kathua Abdul Raheem; Asstt Labour Commissioner, Kathua Brijnesh Kumari; District Information Officer, SHO Women Cell Kathua, Sanjeewan Jyoti; Labour Inspector, Raman Sharma, Divisional Manager SBI Life Insurance Kathua, Harpreet Singh Josha, LCPO – JJB Kathua, Surbhi Abrol, Social worker DCPU, Meghna Sharma, Social Worker DCPU Kathua, Navnidhi Vashisht Sarpanch, Chak Nathal, Rahul Hans, United Kathua, Sandeep Majotra, and Representatives of JK Blood Donor & Welfare Society Kathua, Something for Humanity (Work for Animal), Hand for Help Kathua besides District Coordinator Childline Kathua, Pardeep Singh and Raj Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar of Childline Kathua.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Yadav welcomed the efforts of Childline Kathua Unit for providing best possible support and services to the people in challenging times of Covid pandemic. He appealed to the functionaries of Childline and stakeholder departments to work in synergy to provide helping hand to the people in distress, especially Children and Women. He also called for creating maximum awareness on Covid Appropriate Behaviour to better deal with the threat of third wave of Covid-19 in coming times. He also called upon the team members of Childline Kathua to cover all vulnerable pockets of the far flung areas of the District Kathua and prepare action plan in consultation with other the stakeholders.State Programme Manager Childline India Foundation Manjari Singh, threw light on the working profile of Childline and also presented a detailed account of work done by the Childline which include distribution of food, medicines, PPE Kits , sanitary Kits and other items to the needy with the active participation of volunteer groups , Police and Health Departments, ICPS unit and United Kathua team in different areas of Kathua district.Director Childline Kathua, T R Sharma and staff of Childline, DCPU and other concerned were also present.
