Health Minister dedicates 198 PT Ambulances and 47 MMUs to the people of the state for providing speedy health services
Chandigarh : Haryana Health Minister, Anil Vij said that health services are being continuously improved during the tenure of the present State Government and today in this series, 198 Patient Transport Ambulances (PTAs) and 47 Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is dedicated to the people of state to provide speedy health services so that the best of health services are available to the people in a time bound manner. Apart from this, according to the needs of the people, soon a mapping will be done regarding the health infrastructure so that all the health services can be made available as per the requirement.Sh. Vij was addressing the limited gathering before flagging off 198 Patient Transport Ambulance and 47 Mobile Medical Units at Panchkula today.He said that the present government is committed to provide better health facilities to the people of the state and in this series, mapping will be done regarding the infrastructure of health services, how many beds of hospitals or PHCs or CHCs are needed in which area. He said that earlier under the pressure of politicians, they used to get PHC, CHC and hospital built in their respective areas, but now work will be done to provide all these facilities by getting mapping done as per the requirement.
More than 350 hospitals in the state have become NABH – Vij
Similarly, he said that in order to provide health services to the people of Haryana as per the standardization, he has done the work of getting all the private hospitals NABH and so far more than 350 hospitals in the state have become NABH. Similarly, the work of standardization of government hospitals has also been done and till now more than 80 CHCs, PHCs and district hospitals have become National Quality Assurance Standard. He said that we want to get all the hospitals standardized and this work is going on in this series.
WHO-GMP medicines are available in government hospitals- Vij
Sh. Vij said that the medicines and equipment in our hospitals should be of high quality, therefore it has been decided to procure WHO-GMP medicines in government hospitals so that the people of the state can get good and quality medicines. Similarly, USA-FDA certified equipment is being procured in government hospitals to ensure that every Haryana resident gets good treatment. The Health Minister said that medical colleges are going to open soon in 6 districts of the state, but he wants to have a college in every district. He said that the way government health services are being strengthen, in the same way the private sector has the right to move forward, but he is the health minister of the state, so instead of every private hospital, people should get treatment done in a government hospital. The present state government is working to achieve this.
Wall of memory built in memory of Corona Warriors – Vij
Sh. Vij said that Corona is going on for the last two years and 28 personnel of our Health Department have also sacrificed their lives during the Corona period, in whose memory a Wall of Memory was built at the Headquarters. Apart from this, a wall of memory has also been created in the area/district where the employee has last duty and sacrificed. He said that this disease has been seen after 100 years and a history is being written and in this regard he has given directions to write the history of Covid so that the coming generations would know how to fight against Corona.
Testing free-vaccination free-treatment free is being done in Haryana- Vij
He told that as it is being told that the third wave of corona is going on right now but it is not that deadly, yet we have to be alert. He said that the Health Department is fully alert and ready to deal with the third wave. He urged the people that those who have not vaccinated should definitely get the vaccine because testing free-vaccination free-treatment free is being done in Haryana. The government is fighting the battle of this corona but people should also ensure their participation in this fight by following the covid protocol and follow the instructions issued by the government from time to time.
Thailand’s government learned covid management from Haryana – Vij
He said that Haryana has done such a good job during Covid that the Thai government has learned through video conferencing with us and has worked to implement it in their country. Sh. Vij said that nowadays about 9 thousand cases are coming every day, out of which more than 5 thousand cases are coming in the adjoining districts Gurugram, Faridabad and Sonipat of Delhi and Delhi’s impact is falling in this area. He said that in the rest of the districts also, wherever the cases of corona increase, precaution has been taken.
Haryana is the first state to set up RTPCR lab in every district-Vij
The Health Minister said that Haryana is the first state in the country where RTPCR labs have been established in all districts except Jhajjar and soon RTPCR lab will be established in Jhajjar also. Apart from this, genome sequencing lab has been set up in Rohtak and now genome sequencing labs will be set up at one or two other places also.
Health department budget 5500 crore-Vij
Sh. Vij said that earlier X-ray machines were also rare in government hospitals but during the tenure of the present state government, machines like MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, cathlab etc. have been installed. He said that for the treatment of heart, cathlab machines have been installed in four districts and dialysis machines have been installed in all the districts. In addition, new dispensaries have been opened in 129 institutions. He said that the budget of the Health Department has been increased from Rs 1500 crore to Rs 5500 crore. In addition, NHM has a separate budget of Rs 1100 crore.
Vij flagged off 198 PTAs and 47 MMUs
Health Minister Anil Vij dedicated 198 Patient Transport Ambulances (PTAs) and 47 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) to the people of the state. He said that the State Government has procured additional 188 Patient Transport Ambulances and additional 47 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) under “Atal Janani Vahini Sewa” to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR). So that quality health services can be made available to the people in remote and lack of health services areas. The State Government also decided to purchase 10 additional new Patient Transport Ambulances in lieu of the old Ambulances.
The state now has a fleet of 635 ambulances and 59 mobile medical units- Vij
He informed that at present, 198 new ambulances are being added and now there is a fleet of 635 ambulances. Similarly, 47 new mobile medical units are being added in the state and now there is a fleet of 59 mobile medical units. He informed that 614 drivers have been provided by the Transport Department to the Health Department for the operation of 198 Patient Transport Ambulances and 47 Mobile Medical Units.
Health department to procure additional 26 advanced life saving ambulances and 16 newborn care ambulances- Vij
He said that to further strengthen the health care system and emergency response system in the state, the health department is in the process of procuring additional 26 advanced life saving ambulances and 16 neonatal care ambulances, which will be taken up soon.
980 medical officers will re recruited soon- Rajiv Arora
Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sh. Rajiv Arora said that during the Corona period, any other requirement including logistics, manpower was fulfilled by NHM. He said that NHM is the nodal department for programs like vaccination, home isolation, e-Sanjeevani. Further, today about 35 per cent of the PTA ambulances are being inducted in the ambulance fleet and similarly about 70 per cent of the MMUs are being inducted into the MMU fleet. He said that the way 630 vehicles have been deployed in the state under ERSS for the emergency of the people, similarly 635 ambulances are being inducted by the Health Department for day-night service. He said that out of about Rs 249 crore in the budget of ECRP-1, Rs 224 crore has been funded by the central government, whereas in ECRP-2, Rs 304 crore has been received in the ratio of 60:40. Sh. Arora said that Haryana would get 980 medical officers in the next two months and 1500 to 2000 paramedical staff would be available in the first week of next month. He said that the rate of RTPCR in Haryana is Rs 299 for private labs while for home facility it is Rs 499. He asked the Mission Director of NHM to start the dovetail of Dial 108 with Dial 112 along with providing training to ALS, DLS, PTA.
Under the Covid vaccination program, 100 percent of the first dose and 78 percent of the second dose have been administred to the people of state – Prabhjot SinghOn this occasion, Mission Director Sh. Prabhjot Singh said that the arrival time of Dial 108 service is 14 minutes, which has been targeted to be 10 minutes, while 33 minutes is the time to reach the patient in hospital, which has also been targeted to 30 minutes. He said that under the Covid vaccination program, 100 percent of the first dose and 78 percent of the second dose have been administered in Haryana and the ratio of maternal delivery is 96 percent. He said that so far more than 60000 home isolation kits have been distributed in the state and e-Sanjeevani is being monitored.On this occation, Dr. Veena Singh, Director General, Department of Health Services proposed a vote of thanks. On this occasion, Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, Director of AYUSH Department Dr. Saket Kumar, Director of Health Services, Dr. Usha Gupta and senior officers of the Health Department, NHM, AYUSH and Transport Department and other dignitaries were present.

He said that out of the 198 patient transport ambulances being indected today, 7 to Ambala, 12 to Bhiwani, 6 to Faridabad, 7 to Fatehabad, 7 to Gurugram, 11 to Hisar, 9 to Jhajjar, 16 to Jind, 9 to Kaithal, 7 to Karnal, 8 to Kurukshetra, 11 to Mahendragarh (Narnaul), 8 to Nuh (Mewat), 11 to Palwal, 8 to Panchkula, 8 to Panipat, 8 to Rewari, 8 to Rohtak, 17 to Sirsa, 11 to Sonipat And 9 ambulances have been allotted to Yamunanagar.
These districts got mobile medical units
Similarly, the mobile medical units being inducted today include two in Ambala, four in Bhiwani, one in Charkhi Dadri, one in Faridabad, three in Fatehabad, one in Gurugram, four in Hisar, two in Jhajjar, two in Jind, 3 in Kaithal, 4 in Karnal, 2 in Kurukshetra, 2 in Mahendragarh, 1 on Palwal, 3 in Panipat, 2 in Rewari, 3 in Rohtak, 1 in Sirsa, 3 in Sonepat and Yamunanagar have been also allotted three mobile medical units.
Ambulance transport any patient in emergency and MMU medical service
Ambulances in the state provide free transport services to any patient in emergency, pregnant women, road accident victims, post-delivery cases up to 6 weeks after delivery, sick children up to the age of 5 years, freedom fighters and ex-defense soldiers. Similarly, Mobile Medical Units are providing essential health care services like OPD, Routine Immunization, Family Planning, ANC/PNC and Lab Tests etc. in villages and construction sites adjoining small villages/brick-kilns/dhanis etc.
Till date, about 50 lakh patients have been transported by ambulance and 17 lakh patients have availed the facility of mobile medical units
Ambulance and mobile medical units are continuously serving the people of Haryana. Till date, about 50 lakh patients have been transported through ambulances and 17 lakh patients have availed the facility of Mobile Medical Unit. This effort has been instrumental in reducing the high maternal and infant mortality rate in Haryana and improving survival in road accident cases.
Government is committed to provide effective and efficient referral transport system to the citizens
The present State Government are committed to provide effective and efficient referral transport system to the citizens. Ambulances and mobile medical units are being manned by qualified and skilled medical staff and the emergency system is being handled by 24×7 control rooms in the state. All ambulances and mobile medical units are tracked online using GPS (Geographical Positioning System).
