Shaheed Smarak being built in 22 acres of land in Ambala Cantt will probably be the first of its kind - Anil Vij
Chandigarh : Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that ‘Azadi ki pehli Ladai ka Shaheed Smarak’ is being built in Ambala Cantt in the memory of unsung heros and warriors of the first freedom struggle of 1857. The construction work of the Smarak has been more than 80 percent completed, which will be ready soon, he added.Sh. Anil Vij was presiding over a review meeting with officers of various departments in this regard here today. It is noteworthy that this Smarak is being established by the Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages. This Smarak will be established in 22 acres of land.Sh. Vij directed the officers to speed up the construction work of the Smarak so that the Smarak can be open for the visitors at the earliest. He said that this Shaheed Smarak would develop into a major tourist center, which would probably be the largest and modern technology-equipped Memorial in the country. In order to show the solid objects and stories of history in relation to the establishment of the Smarak, a committee of historians related to 1857 has been formed, in which the suggestions they will give according to their studies, will be displayed for the knowledge of the visitors by different means.
Smarak will be developed in three phases
It was informed in the meeting that the memorial would be developed in three phases. Under the first phase, when the 1857 revolution started in Ambala, where it started, its history will be shown. In the second phase, where the revolution of 1857 was fought in Haryana, it will be described and in the third phase where the freedom struggle was fought in India, Rani of Jhansi, Bahadur Shah Zafar along with other revolutionaries, what they role played, it will also be described.
It will be a Smarak equipped with modern technology of its kind
It was told in the meeting that this Smarak would be one of its kind with modern technology in which today’s modern digital technology would be used to show history. It was told in the meeting that for the convenience of the people visiting this Smarak, there will be an indoor navigation system, under which complete information about the Smarak will be provided to the visitor through audio. Similarly, the plan of this battle of 1857 will also be shown with digital technology and it will also be told how the freedom struggle was fought for the next 90 years after 1857.There will be a comprehensive description of the economic, political, administrative, religious and social conditions of 1857 in the SmarakIt was told in the meeting that a comprehensive description of the economic, political, administrative, religious and social conditions of 1857 would also be dhown in this Smarak through the use of modern technology. Similarly, the museum to be set up in the Smarak will display solid artifacts related to history.It was informed in the meeting that digital ‘Sankalp Stambh’ would also be installed in the memorial so that the people coming would take a pledge towards patriotism. Similarly, rare paintings of painters from India and abroad will also be displayed on the walls which will have scenes from the first war of independence.
Open air theater will also be built
It was also informed in the meeting that an open air theater is also being built in the Smarak in which the achievements of the Haryana government will be shown and there will be a provision of light and sound show also.The meeting attended by the Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Dr. Amit Agarwal, Additional Director of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr. Kuldeep Saini and officers of various departments were present.
