Ambala : Haryana Home and Health Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that a large statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh will be installed at the entrance of Ambala Cantonment and the entrance will be known as “Bhagat Singh Chowk”.

Home Minister Sh. Vij made this announcement today while addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone of the construction work of new road from Tangri Dam Road to GT Road near Maheshnagar Pump House in Ambala.

He said that he has provided 50 lakh rupees from his fund to the city council to install the statue of Bhagat Singh ji and soon a big statue will be installed here.Home Minister Anil Vij said that the name of those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country will be at the forefront of Ambala Cantonment.

A Shaheed Samarak is being constructed in Ambala Cantonment to pay homage to the martyrs of the revolution of 1857 while the construction work of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Park has been completed.

Martyrs were never remembered in the past, but this will not happen now. The entrance gate of Ambala Cantonment will be named after Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. It will be a special identity of the city that martyrs will be honored here.

Sh. Vij said that he has many more projects in his potli for Ambala Cantonment, but “It is not his habit to put up hoardings without building a road”, he speaks after work and he has a lot in his potli for Ambala Cantonment. Soon those works will also come to the light, through which their Ambala cantonment will take flight for progress.

Haryana was formed in the year 1966 and at that time only Ambala Cantonment was the planned town in Haryana and all the rest were villages or towns, but in no time they became metropolis.

But our Ambala cantonment remained the same. He said that, once read poetry in the Vidhansabha during the time of the previous governments that “This year, this strange thing happened in the month of monsoon, it rained in the whole city except my house”.

There was nothing in the name of development in Ambala and not even a single brick was used here. However, now all these development works were done in the public interest.

He said that there used to be daily quarrels for water in Government College, Bus Stand, Ambala, but we did the work of bringing canal water by laying pipes from a distance of 18 kilometers and now another pipeline is being laid which will supply canal water.

He said that a Shaheed Samarak is being constructed at a cost of Rs 400 crore and along with it, the Science Museum, Ambala Cantonment has been given the status of sub-division and a mini-secretariat has been built here.

Where various government offices were built so that people do not have to go to the city for small works. Similarly, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Park was built. Earlier people used to visit Chandigarh from Ambala, now people from Chandigarh are coming to Ambala Cantonment to see this park.

Soon a bank square cum shopping complex, multi level car parking, and fire station will be constructed.To illuminate the entire city, 11 thousand street lights have been installed so far. National level National Center and Disease Control are being built in Naggal, whose work will start in the coming months.

Earlier this center was only in Delhi, now this center is being established in Ambala Cantonment in North India. A football stadium is being constructed in the cantonment, while an all-weather swimming pool and gymnastics hall, yoga center have been constructed.

Apart from this, a domestic airport is being built for which land has been earmarked and aircraft will soon take off from here.

Home Minister Anil Vij said that he has done impossible tasks like eight kilometers worked on the construction of Long Tangri Dam Road. Earlier people used to laugh that “how can a road be built on the dam”, but we made the road and today lakhs of motorists are taking advantage of it.

The long ring road has been approved and the work of making the ring road will also be started. With the increase in road network, property rates have also increased in Ambala, due to which people are progressing.

Three new roads each from Ring Road to Kalaamb, Chandigarh and Delhi have been approved, which will make commuting to Ambala Cantonment very easy in future and Ambala will become a metropolis.

Anil Vij informed that the construction work on Tangri Dam Road has been started today at a cost of Rs 11 crore. This road will directly meet GT Road from Tangri Dam.

Till now the people of the area were going to GT Road from Jagadhri Road via bus stand, but in future people will reach GT Road through this new road and it will be very easy to go to Anaj Mandi on GT Road from this road.

This new road will further meet at Ghasitpur under bridge where one block has been constructed by the Railways and another block is under construction.

Home Minister Anil Vij said that our city is situated on the other side of the railway line as well and he has also got four bridges sanctioned on the railway line for commuting.

A bridge was built on the railway line to go to Vidyanagar and Nanheda, a railway under bridge was built in Shahpur, the bridge at Machhunda would be built soon, while a column of the under bridge in Ghasitpur has been inserted.
