Shimla : Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 40 crore for Jhandutta area of Bilaspur district through video conferencing from Shimla today.Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated newly opened Division of Public Works Department and Sub Fire Station at Jhandutta to facilitate about 91,562 people of the area.Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Rs. 11.50 crore upgradation of Samoh-Geharwin Thuran road to be done under PMGSY, Rs. 10 crore upgradation of Jhandutta Bharoli Kalan road to be made under PMGSY, Rs. 7 crore 100 meter span double press-stressed box girder bridge at Ree-Radoh over Seer khad, Rs.3.82 crore Community Health Centre building at Talai, Rs. 3.62 crore Daslehra-Khamerah Kalan bridge, Rs. 1.68 crore Science Lab at Government Senior Secondary School, Talai, Rs.94 lakh development and improvement of additional source of Lift Water Supply Scheme Chounta Jangla Thathal in tehsil Jhandutta and Rs. 48 lakh Electric Sub Division building at Talai.While addressing the people through video conference from Shimla, Chief Minister said that the opening of PWD Division has fulfilled the long pending demand of the people of the area. He said that this Division would go a long way in strengthening the public works activities in Jhandutta area of the district. He said that similarly the Fire Sub Station at Jhandutta which was dedicated the people of area today would also provide immediate assistance in case of any fire incident. Chief Minister said that Jhandutta-Bhadoli road to be upgraded by spending Rs 10 crore under PMGSY would provide better connectivity to about 25000 people of the area. He said that another upgradation of Rs11.50 crore Samoh-Geharwin-Thuran road would also facilitate the people of the area. He said that work on Rs 6 crore 33 KVA Sub Station would be completed soon to solve the voltage problem of the people of the area.
Jai Ram Thakur thanked the people of Jhandutta area for contributing Rs 1.16 crore to towards the CM Covid Fund and also Rs 5 lakh towards PM Cares. He said that the BJP workers had prepared and distributed over 54,000 face masks to the people of the area. He said that the assistance provided by the people of the area would go a long way in providing assistance to the needy at the time of distress.Chief Minister said that people needed to be more cautious about the corona virus, as during the rainy season the cases of corona positive were rising at a faster pace during the last few days. He urged the people to use face masks while going out in public places and also regularly wash hands with soap to check spread of this virus. He thanked the people of the area for giving wholehearted support to BJP candidates in 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections and urged them to give similar support to the BJP candidates in 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections also. Union Minister of State for Finance and Cooperate Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur thanked the Chief Minister for opening PWD Division at Jhandutta for ensuring better conditions of roads and bridges in the area. He said that corona pandemic has completely changed our way of living and lifestyle. He said that all the elected representatives must motivate people to wear face mask and regularly wash hands to avoid spread of this virus. He said that situation in India was much better than most of the developed countries of the world and credit of this goes to the timely steps taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Prime Minister would be dedicating Atal Tunnel, Rohtang by the end of September this year, which would be a biggest gift for the people of the State. He said that efforts were on to connect Bilaspur with rail line for which work on Bhanupalli-Bilaspur rail line has been started.MLA Jhandutta J.R. Katwal while welcoming the Chief Minister thanked him for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of rupees for the area. He said that Jhandutta Vidhan Sabha area has witnessed unprecedented development during the last about two and a half years for which the people of the area would remain indebted to the Chief Minister for his benevolence.State BJP Executive Member Rakesh Gautam presented vote of thanks. Mandal BJP President Mohinder Singh Chandel welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion.MPP and Power Minister Sukhram Chaudhary was present at Shimla where as DC Bilaspur and other Officers were present at Bilaspur.
