Series of events to be organized to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Independence

Shimla : Chief Secretary Anil Khachi presided over the meeting held here today for organizing the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav program in the state. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a series of events to be organized by the government to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence. The Mahotsav will be celebrated as a Jan-Utsav in the spirit of Jan-Bhagidari.On this occasion, the Chief Secretary directed the officers to complete all the arrangements in a time bound manner. He said that programs related to Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav would be organized after the subsidence of the Covid-19 cases in the state. He said that during this event various programs would be organized at the state and district level till next year.Anil Khachi said that quiz competitions would be organized at school, district and state level during the series of programs Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Apart from this, various types of competitions will be organized in educational institutions. He said that seminars would also be organized by Himachal Pradesh University, Central University and Indian Institute of Advance Studies.He said that a Coffee Table book would also be published on Himachal’s contribution in the freedom struggle and a theme song will also be prepared. He also directed for documentation of various programs to be organized during this event and to ensure public participation.Additional Chief Secretary RD Dhiman, Secretary Education Rajiv Sharma, Secretary Youth Services and Sports Dr. SS Guleria, Director Youth Services and Sports Department Gopal Chand, Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon, Director Language, Art and Culture Sunil Sharma, Director Higher Education Dr. Amarjeet Sharma, Under Secretary Manjit Bansal and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
