Jai Ram Thakur addresses the virtual rally of BJP Mandi Sadar Mandal through video conferencing

Shimla : While addressing virtual rally of BJP Mandi Sadar Mandal through video conferencing from Shimla today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the Nagar Council Mandi and other BJP Office Bearers of Mandi Sadar had done a commendable job by providing food, shelter and other requirements to the needy during the time of lockdown due to corona pandemic.Chief Minister said that the party functionaries have provided face masks and face cover to the people besides sensitizing them regarding importance of social distancing. He said that they have also donated generously towards the Covid Fund and PM CAREs. He said that only collective efforts could help in fighting the corona virus effectively.Jai Ram Thakur said that several developmental projects were being implemented in Mandi town keeping in view its religious and tourism importance.
He said that efforts were being made to construct an international airport near Mandi to facilitate the people as well tourists visiting Mandi and Kullu-Manali area. He said that Shivdham was being developed at Kangni dhar which would be added attraction to the tourists.
Chief Minister said that Rs. 68.57 crore would be spent on construction of sewerage scheme for Mandi town and adjoining areas. He said that apart from this, a Rs. 82.18 crore Mandi town drinking water augmentation scheme has also been dedicated to people of the town which would benefit about 47000 people of area. He said that another Rs.86.39 lakh lift water supply scheme was also being constructed for Mandi town from Kagni dhar to Dudar.Jai Ram Thakur said that foundation stone has been laid of a godown for storage of EVM and VVPAT in Bhyuli which would be completed by spending an amount of Rs. 7.50 crore.MP Ram Swaroop Sharma welcomed the Chief Minister and said that Mandi district was fortunate to have the Chief Minister for the first time.MLA Sundernagar Rakesh Jamwal, General Secretary District Mandi BJP Ranvir Singh, Ex MLAs D.D. Thakur and Kanhaiya Lal, Chairperson, BJP Mahila Morcha Mandi and Chairperson Nagar Parishad Mandi Suman Thakur, General Secretary, Child Welfare Council Payal Vaidya and President BJP Sadar Mandal Maneesh Kapur were also present at Mandi among others during the virtual rally.
