Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurates and lays foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 200 crore in Una Constituency

Presides over the "Pragatisheel Himachal : Sathapna ke 75 Varsh" program

Una : Chief Minister today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs 200 crore in Una Vidhan Sabha Constituency.While addressing a largely attended public meeting at old bus stand Una, Chief Minister took a jibe at the condition of the Congress in the State and the Centre.

He said that on the one hand the Congress leaders were on ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, on the other hand several Congress leaders at the Centre and in the State were on ‘Congress Chhoro’ campaign. He said that senior leaders like Gulam Nabi Azad had left the Congress and several leaders of the State like Pawan Kajal, Lakhvinder Rana, Yog Raj and Harsh Mahajan etc had left the Congress to join the BJP.

Chief Minister said that the Union Government had sanctioned a Bulk Drug Park for Himachal Pradesh which would prove a boon to the economy of the State. He said that this Park would be setup at Haroli in Una district. He said that with the setting up of a bulk drug park, India’s dependence on China for raw materials would be minimized.

He said that thousands of crores of rupees would be saved as the pharma companies in Himachal would get the raw material in the State itself and the manufacturing of medicines would also become cheaper, thereby reducing the cost of medicine.

He also accused the Congress leaders of trying to sabotage the sanctioning of this project for the State. Now, when this project had been sanctioned, the same leaders were claiming that it was their dream project, he added.

Chief Minister said that the nature and style of working of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was different from other leaders. He said that it was the style of his functioning that the Prime Minister decided to celebrate 75 years of freedom as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohtsav’ to remember the contribution of our great freedom fighters and martyrs in ensuring freedom of the nation.

He said that the State had also completed 75 years of its existence and the State Government had also decided to celebrate this occasion in a befitting manner by organizing 75 events throughout the State.

He said that main objective was to thank every labourer, farmer, youth, employees, women of the State for their contribution in making Himachal Pradesh one of the frontrunner States in matters of development.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi shares special bonds with the State and its people. He said that during his visit to the State on 5th of this month to dedicate AIIMS Bilaspur and other projects, Prime Minister nostalgically remembered the days spent by him at Bilaspur and in the State.

He said that Prime Minister also visited International Kullu Dussehra on the same day, thereby becoming the first Prime Minister to be part of Kullu Dussehra celebrations. He said that Prime Minister participated in the Shri Raghunath ji Puja and mingled with the general public which shows his faith in the Dev Sanskriti of the State.

Chief Minister said that the present Government was spending over Rs 1300 crore annually on providing social security pension to the needy as compared to only Rs. 400 crore spent by the previous State Government.

He said that the motto of the present government all these years was ‘Gareeb Ke Kareeb Sarkar’ and initiated several welfare schemes for the vulnerable section of the society. He said that HIMCARE, Sahara Yojna, Ghrihini Suvidha Yojna and Shagun Yojna had provided much needed relief to the needy and poor.

He said that 50 per cent concession had been provided to women passengers in HRTC buses and 125 units free power was also being provided to the domestic consumers.Jai Ram Thakur said that inaugurating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs 200 crore was possible due to the hard work and dedication of Satpal Singh Satti.

He said that his dedication and commitment towards the development of the area was indeed unmatched. Chief Minister announced upgradation of Government Middle Schools Batoli and Jagran to Government High Schools, upgradation of Government Primary School Lal Singhi-I and Lal Singhi-II to Government Middle schools, opening of PHC in Gram panchayat Nangran.

He also announced the starting of science classes in Senior Secondary School Kutharkalan and Commerce classes in another senior secondary school of the area.

Chief Minister inaugurated twenty developmental projects worth Rs. 144.39 crore which include, Rs. 28.20 crore Mother Child Health Care Centre, Rs. 33.88 crore Mini Secretariat building, Rs. 11.05 crore ITI building, Rs. 8.55 crore ITI building at Mehatpur, Rs. 6.79 crore Circuit House Una, Rs. 4.34 crore 30 bedded CHC building at Basdehra, Rs. 2 crore HP Pollution Control building Una, Rs. 57 lakh Conference Hall in Veterinary Hospital Una, Rs. 51.50 Lakh Press Club Building at Rampur, Rs. 71.19 lakh Seed Processing Plant and Seed storage, Rs. 36.29 crore National Career Service for Special People, Rs. 6.20 crore improvement of existing water supply Scheme, Rs. 1.22 crore Malaut Water Supply Scheme, Rs. 1.20 crore Rampur Water Supply Scheme, Rs. 1 crore Nangran Water Supply Scheme, Rs. 40 lakh Water Supply Scheme Lalsinghi, Rs. 42 lakh Water Supply Scheme Basoli, Rs. 48 lakh Water Supply Scheme Gushala, Rs. 55 lakh Water Supply Scheme Jalgran and Rs. 48 lakh Water Supply Scheme Pinbari.

He also laid foundation stones of six projects worth Rs. 54.12 crore which include, Rs. 4.39 crore improvement of road in Badolian Khurd, Rs. 5.92 crore District Treasury Office and Residences, Rs. 1.13 crore Office and Residences of District Welfare Officer, Rs. 11.93 crore e-Kisan Bhawan at Una, Rs 23.75 crore Critical Care Unit at Regional Hospital Una and Rs. 7 crore 33 KV Electric Sub Station under Electrical Division Sohari.

Union Information and Broadcasting. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said that the Satellite Centre of PGI was coming up at Una with a cost of over Rs 400 crore, which would provide specialized health care facilities to the people of the area. He said that IIT Mandi, IIM Sirmour, Central University Kangra were a few gifts the Centre Government had provided for the people of the State.

He said that this shows the special bounding the Prime Minister shares with the people of the State. He said that one rank one pension scheme was also implemented by the Union Government which had benefitted over one lakh ex-servicemen of the State. He said that biggest vaccination campaign of the world was also started in the country by the Prime Minister.
Anurag Singh Thakur also highlighted a few schemes started by the Centre Government. He said that Bulk Drug Park had also been sanctioned for the State by the Union Government which would be opened at Una.

He also urged the people to give wholehearted support to the State Government so that the double engine governments at the Centre and the State could ensure all round development of the State.
Chairman State Finance Commission Satpal Singh Satti while welcoming the Chief Minister said that Una district in general and Una constituency in particular had witnessed unparalleled development during the tenure of the present State Government.

He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area and urged the Chief Minister to consider them sympathetically.Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar, Vice Chairman SIDC Prof. Ram Kumar, MLA Balbir Chaudhary, District BJP President Manohar Lal, Director, Ministry of Labour and Employment Dr Sikha Anand, BJP leader Raj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Una Raghav Sharma were present on the occasion among others.
