Jai Ram Thakur stresses on exploring home isolation possibilities for asymptomatic patients

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that possibilities of home isolation mechanism should be explored for asymptomatic Covid-19 patients who have adequate facility for the same. He was addressing the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the State through video conferencing from here today.The Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh like other States of the country has witnessed a steep increase in Covid-19 patients in last few days. The State has adequate facilities for keeping patients in Covid care centres and was fully prepared to meet out any eventuality. He said that for this district administration should regularly visit these centres to ensure proper facilities being provided to patients.While appreciating the commendable work done by the district administrations in effectively tackling the pandemic, Chief Minister said that the administration must also motivate the corona warriors such as doctors, para medical staff, police and sanitary workers etc. to keep their morale high. He said that possibilities must also be explored to allow the patients to have homemade food which could be brought out by the family members of the patients up to the nearest Covid centre where the patient is kept.Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal said that effective steps were required to ensure that no one enter the State without proper registration. He also expressed concern over the sudden surge in Covid-19 cases in the State and hoped the State would soon come out victorious from this situation.Additional Chief Secretary, Health R.D. Dhiman said that stress should be laid on contact tracing of the Covid-19 patients at the earliest which would go a long way in checking its further spread.Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister J.C. Sharma and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
