Jai Ram Thakur presides over meeting to take stock of Covid-19 situation in District Mandi

Mandi : Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today presided over the review meeting related to Covid-19 and took stock of the situation. While reviewing the meeting, he said that a decline in cases of coronavirus has been observed in the district but it is important to be vigilant and sensitive towards efforts being made to control the virus.Chief Minister said that the pre fabricated Covid hospital would soon be completed in Nerchowk Medical college, which would enhance bed capacity for patients. He said that the beds, oxygen cylinder and drugs kits for Covid are available in adequate number. He said that safety of the people of the state is the priority of the State Government. He said that effective steps have been taken to contain the spread of the virus, as a result of which a decline in the graph of Covid cases has not only been witnessed in District Mandi but also in the state.Jai Ram Thakur said that action plan has been chalked out for vaccination process on availability of Covid vaccine. He said that if the situation of the coronavirus remains in control in the district, then OPD would be started in Nerchowk medical College to facilitate people of the area. He also urged the people to follow the guidelines of Covid-19 to contain the spread of the virus.
He said that the Him Surksha campaign being run in the state would continue till 4th January and 10 lakh persons have been screened in District Mandi. He said that information of diseases such as TB, leprosy, diabetes and blood pressure were also being collected under the campaign.Chief Minister said that the recovery rate in the district is 93.38 percent and there are 521 active cases. He also enquired of covid-19 patients suffering with other morbidities. He directed the authorities to prepare estimate for constructing private rooms for infected persons in Nerchowk Medical college at the earliest.Later, Chief Minister also presided over the meeting with officers of Public Works Department and reviewed the developmental works done by the department in the district and directed to complete the ongoing projects within stipulated time period. He also discussed about the progress of various 152 projects for which foundation stones have been laid. It included 39 buildings, 53 roads and 20 bridges. He also reviewed the work progress of 129 announcements, out of which 113 projects have been completed and 16 were under progress. He also took stock of 275 projects being implemented under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna and 60 projects being carried out under NABARD and CRF.Deputy Commissioner Mandi, Rugved Thakur, Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri, Superintending Engineer Vijay Chaudhary and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
