Bandaru Dattatreya & Jai Ram Thakur pay floral tribute to Dr Y.S.Parmar

Shimla : Governor Bandaru Dattatraya and Chief Minister Jai ram Thakur have paid floral tribute to the Founder and first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Dr. Y.S.Parmar on his birth anniversary on his statue at the Ridge, today.On the occasion, the Governor said that Dr. Parmar was not only a politician but also a man of stature whose life was based on values. He was familiar with tough geographical conditions of the hilly region, and as Chief Minister, he paves the way of development in Himachal Pradesh by paying more attention to agriculture and horticulture sector. The greatness of Dr. Parmar was his simplicity and when he left the CM post, he left the government vehicle and used public transport to his village.The Governor said that Dr. Parmar had great respect and pride for the Himachali culture and lifestyle and gave priority to developmental needs of people of the State. He said that we should take inspiration from life and works of Dr. Parmar, by doing more works in agriculture & horticulture sectors and focussing on the progress of backward areas would be a true tribute to him.Mahender Singh Thakur, Jal Shakti, Revenue and Horticulture Minister, Suresh Bhardwaj, Urban Development, Town & Country Planning, Housing Minister, Mukesh Agnihotri, Leader of Opposition, MLAs,  Satya Kaundal, Mayor, Municipal Corporation Shimla, Amit Kashyap, Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Harbans Singh Brascon, Director Information and Public Relations, councillors of MC Shimla and people from all walks of life paid rich tributes to Dr. Parmar.Patriotic songs and bhajans were recited by the artists of the Information and Public Relation Department on this occasion.
