Six high-profiled international diplomats of four-countries visited LPU Campus

Occasion was ‘ASU Congregation ceremony for African students – 2022’

Jalandhar : Six high-profiled international diplomats from four-countries visited Lovely Professional University (LPU) Campus, today, on the occasion of ‘ASU Congregation ceremony for African students – 2022’. Visiting officials & delegates were from the embassies of four countries-Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia & Malawi to India. All of them interacted with graduating African students at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university.

The visiting African countries’ delegation included Deputy High Commissioner for Malawi Mission (New Delhi) Ms Grace Tiyanjane Chupa; Second Secretary, Zambia High Commission, Mr Lubinda N. Mwitumwa; First Secretary/Head of Consular, Ghana High Commission, Mr Eric Amoako Missah; Head/Minister of Chancery, Ghana High Commission, Mr Sebastian Beliwine; Minister for Education and Health, High Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Christopher Okeke; and, Administration Attache’ Mr Bello Ibrahim (Nigeria).

Headed by Her Excellency Ms Grace, the delegates motivated graduating African students of different nations to further excel in professional domains of their value based academics as received at LPU. Students were guided to convert challenges in the global society into opportunities to bring name and fame to their parents, families, countries, alma mater and the globe as a whole. On this occasion, 69 African students were also honoured with gold medals for their academic excellence All of the delegates also applauded educational endeavours and infrastructure at LPU and thanked LPU authorities in channelizing African students on to the right paths of their bright careers.

Remembering the harsh moments of the COVID days, and the strong help meted out to African students through LPU in many ways during that period, they also appreciated LPU for according affectionate care to African students.Prior to this, the esteemed delegation was welcomed at LPU Campus by LPU Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sanjay Modi. Dr Modi apprised esteemed guests about various endeavours adopted at LPU for advising African students about jobs, entrepreneurship, internships and more so that they may be able to utilize their education in the right manner. During the culminating hours of the ceremony, African students also presented cultural programmes of social importance, oneness, awakening and propagation.
