Guru Nanak Dev University organized ‘Tech-Startup- connect and Grow Event’ on Women Entrepreneurship

Amritsar : Golden Jubilee Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Guru Nanak Dev University organized ‘Tech-Startup- connect and Grow Event’ on Women Entrepreneurship in association with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh at Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan of Guru Nanak Dev University.

The major emphasis of this event was to sensitize early-stage entrepreneurs to create their own businesses. A large number of girl students from University Departments and different colleges like HMV, KMV from Jalandhar, Khlasa college of Law, Amritsar College of Law from Amritsar and Regional Center, Gurdaspur attended the event.

The event started with the release of a documentary about Golden Jubilee Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation by Prof. Sarbjot Singh Behl, Dean Academic Affairs and Nodal Officer RUSA 2.0.Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Behl explained the need of women entrepreneurship for the prosperity of the nation.

The eminent speakers on this occasion were Dr. Dapinder Kaur Bakshi, Joint Director, PSCST, Ms. Shikha Sareen, Chairperson- FICCI-FLO, Ms. Muskan Kapoor, MD Angels Paradise School and founder –Grace Health care, Mr. Amitesh Singh, Director- Novelty Group.

Dr. Dapinder Kaur Bakshi in her interaction with budding entrepreneurs and introduced the SHE (Startups’, Handholding and Empowerment) Initiative of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology. She also highlighted the networking of State government initiatives for young entrepreneurs.

The industry representatives who were present on the occasion inspired the student with their own startup journey and express their interest to help girl students who want to venture into the exciting field of Entrepreneurship.

On behalf of the university, the Vice –Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu expressed his commitment to take the center to new heights and sought corporation from all stakeholders.The faculty members from GJCEI, Prof. P.K Pati, Dr. Swati Mehta, Ms. Harkirandeep Kaur, Dr. Prabhpreet Singh, Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Rajdeep Singh Sohal, Dr. Amandeep Singh, Er. Sarbinder Pal Singh, Mr. Pardeep Dutta, Mr. Vijay Kumar, Ms. Gurmeet Kaur and Ms. Vandana also expressed their gratitude to all the invited guests for attending this event.

The major thrust of Golden Jubilee Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (under RUSA 2.0.) is to create an innovation enabled ecosystem in the region. This center has been actively involved in organizing various activities to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
