Guru Nanak Dev University organized training program on Advanced Futuristic Techniques

Amritsar : Guru Nanak Dev University organized one week training program on Advanced Multidisciplinary/ Interdisciplinary Futuristic Techniques in association with Amity University, Uttar Pradesh. In the inaugural function, Prof. S.S. Behl, Dean Academic Affairs of the University was the Chief Guest and Prof. Hardeep Singh, OSD to Vice Chancellor was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Shafali Kashyap, Dr. Harjinder Kaur and Dr. Avinash Chauhan from Amity University, U.P, also participated in the inauguration.

The programme is sponsored by Dept. of Science & Technology under Synergistic Training Programme Utilizing the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (STUTI). Amity Project Management Unit launched the DST-STUTI Programme under GNDU where more than 30 participants participated. These participants are from West Bengal, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, J & K, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh and different Universities/Colleges of Punjab. In one week duration, the participants will be introduced exposed to Sophisticated Scientific Infrastructure at the University. The Resource Persons from Industry, Research Institutions and Universities shall be interacting with the participants.

The program started with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Renu Bhardwaj (Director Research) followed by the candle lighting. The Dean Life Sciences, Prof. B.S. Chadha briefed about the scientific infrastructure at GNDU while Dr. Shafali Kashyap (who is Amity STUTI Co-ordinator) briefed the participants about the DST-STUTI program. Prof. Hardeep Singh emphasised on the need of practical part of the scientific study. In the Presidential address, Prof. S.S. Behl appealed the participants to know the working of scientific instruments very minutely before using them for the scientific studies for the better benefit in research output.

The inauguration session ended with Vote of Thanks by Prof. B.S. Chadha. On this occasion, Dr. Palwinder Singh, Professor In-charge Examinations, Prof. Sudha Jatinder, Director HRDC, Prof. Rajbir Kaur Bhatti, Deputy Director HRDC, Dr. Saroj Arora, Director Life Long Learning were also present. Amity Leaders, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education group, Dr. Nitin Batra, CEO, AITD, Dr. R.K. Kohli, Vice- Chancellor, Amity University, Punjab graced the occasion through virtual mode. Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice- Chancellor congratulated all the organisers for successful start of the program & wished all the best for successful completion.
